Red corsair CSM! Yep, more Corsair goodness!

Wow I can't believe that I have not checked this log! Some amazing stuff in here. I especially like the whit khorn stuff, it is a nice break from the usual red and the FW details really pops with the white armor. Also the hazard stripes is always a detail that I liked so kudos for having some of them on your stuff.

Very nice updates since the last time I checked here The sicarius model looks really well painted and I hope you get a high score with it!
I'm still a fan of your white berzerkers, it makes them stand out so much. Maybe I'll make some white ones myself just for the fun of it.
Your rhinos and vindicators look really nice too with all the spikes, I'll keep that in mind for my rhinos ^^

Howdy! Been a while since I've updated this log, as I've been busy on the Flesh Tearer and Dark Eldar armies. I've also been painting up a Sisters of Battle Commission as well. However, I have a doubles tourney coming up and I am taking the Red Corsairs to the field of battle once more (how many times have I said I am not taking them ever again due to their poor win/loss ratio <WHICH ACTUALLY HAS IMPROVED IN HOMES GAMES! GASP!>). So I've painted up a new HQ as well as some fixing up on some of my previous paintjobs.

Here's the new Lord -

He is a real kit bash. Have a guess as to which parts are from where!

Chaos Lord w/ Daemon Weapon and MoS

x8 Khorne berzerkers in rhino /w powerfist

x5 Havocs, x4 heavy Bolters.

The point total for my half of the army is 991 points. Anyways, enjoy the pics and I probably wont update this blog again for a while, until I have to paint something new. Keep an eye out on my other blogs, cos once my client gets his super nice camera out of storage, the Flesh Tearers and Dark Eldar will get proper photo updates.

Just a quick one.

So I played in Conquest over the weekend. Was a lot of fun and I did a lot better than expected. 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss in a no comp tourney, not to shabby. I came 13th out of 23, but the best part was walking out with best painted. I also tied best sports with Andrew 'Andoo' Tennant.



Hope to do more for these guys when the new dex is released, otherwise, back to the Dark Eldar and Flesh Tearers!

Oh an non-Traitor Legion that I'm actually interested in following. Otherwise Renegade Chapters aren't that appealing to me. But Red Corsairs are. Please continue with the red-and-blacks. Those are my favorite, really loved the Havocs.

So it's been a long time since I've posted anything related to Chaos. But now the new Dex is released, I've decided to start a... BLACK LEGION ARMY!

This is more of a long term project for enjoyment and stretching my converting/painting skills. I have my Red Corsair army that I can play with, as well as my lovely Dark Eldar army. I find most of my time is spent painting other peoples models at the moment to earn extra cash so I don't die in the butt broke.

Anyway, here is the first pretty much fully painted model for my Black Legion, and yes, in my army, I play 3 Hellbrutes! I have another two to paint, but I will convert and paint the others up slightly different.

This guy took about 25 hours or more to paint.

I take a lot of time to paint, but 25 hours is really long though. The brute looks amazing though, so totally worth it. Also just commendable to take the time needed to really make it shine.

I love the Zerks too, though I think you're using the GW plastic, right Ormo? I've got the Forgeworld ones and they look different.

Great BL Helbrute by the way, though the Eyes of Horus might be a little flat... better than I could do yet. Got six of them myself (got a bunch cheap off DV from Dark Angels players...) and am going to have to do a lot of work to make them different- skin tones, heads, and of course weapons.

I was wondering, might you do a similar tutorial you did for your red for your white Zerks? I'm going to eventually have a 40k-era Berzerkers Command Squad (Lord, Icon standard bearer, Champion... er, champion with shield, apothecary with scalpel) and I kind of thought the same way you did- going to do the Pre-Heresy white and blue with some brass trim and blood spatters. You've got something good going there and I'd love to nick it, along with the Spawn coming out of the hatch for Vehicle Possession.

I could do a tut, but I'm not touching that scheme again unfortunately! I can give you the method of how I did it (older GW paints). Pretty simple:

1. Graveyard earth (strong base coat)
2. Wash Dev Mud.
3. Graveyard earth to pick out the details. Don't paint in the crevasses, armour joins etc etc.
4. Bleached Bone, with many, many layers. This is the time consuming bit.
5. (optional) fine highlight of skull white on the edges.

Then you just throw blood on them and they are ready to go!

Gotcha. Earth, mud, earth, bone, bone, bone... and so on. Then cut myself with a hobby knife and add the blood. Thanks!
