    Wink Vinsanity's Imperial Fist Insanity

    Hey all,

Just wanted to show you my latest marine army which has been on and off for a few years now, but recently I've been really into painting them after finding a yellow that I'm happy with. So without further rambling, here are some Fists!

    TH/SS Terminators

    And also Lysander

Well overral they look very nice, the blue, the grens and red and nicely done, im not 100% sure about the metal, i would personally have done it darker, the skin looks good, the highlights on the grey could be finer lines, the writting on the scrolls and stuff could use some breaks rather than just long lines (this is hard to do however). Something about the yellow dosnt look right, i cant put my finger on it (might just be the picture, overral nice job, just abit of tweaking really.

Thanks mate. It could indeed be the photos, I'm not the best photographer The writing is a bit off I agree The yellow is hard to correct however, not too sure what is off about it. Could be a bit flat or something...

its always great to see another Imperial Fists army around.

i cant tell 100% because some pics have different brightnesses, but i like how the yellow looks on the drop-pod. i like yellow a bit darker an dirty personally.

and for that scroll on the rhino what did you use to write that? a pen?

looking forward to seeing some more fellow IF marines!

Looking good, nice to see an army wide collection coming along compared to our usual hodgepodge! When'd you get the LRC?

Not a fan of the smoke launchers on the underside of the Rhino though. Got an army list planned?

    Re: Vinsanity's Imperial Fist Insanity

Thanks Kirbs Got the LRC in a spending spree with the rhino and the tactical marines ^^.
Its difficult to place the smoke launchers on the top as the storm bolter is in the place where they usually would go... Sort of got a list, its probably too themey and not as competitive hehe.

Anywho, just a small update. Ive washed the crusader and some other stuff. Also repainted a bit of the Drop Pod to make some metal inner sides on the wings...

Enjoy! Thanks for looking and leave some comments

Great work on them so far, the damage and weathering is looking really great! I'm personally not keen on the red on the termies, but that just me, it is painted well though

you're making light work of a very difficult colour to get right.

It looks great, very natural, very 'unforced'. It'll be a nice force to see on the table.

    Re: Vinsanity's Imperial Fist Insanity

Thanks very much guys, positive comments make me a happy panda The key for me here is to use inks and washes to make the yellow, not to paint and highlight which would normally be the case. It might look a bit flatter in the end, but the washes rectify that a bit and it takes 1000 times less time to do

    Any more C&C? Cheers guys!

The weathering looks good on the fists Vince, show me how pls :P? Thinking of doing my Tau as more war-torn.

Think you need some shadowing/inking though on the yellow. Maybe mix just a bit of red into a wash or something to give the yellow more depth?

    Re: Vinsanity's Imperial Fist Insanity

Cheers Kirby, the weathering is just a drybrush of Devlan Mud -or a drybrush motion upwards from the bottom up since its not a true drybrush of paint because its a wash and so you can't get the brush truly dry, if that makes any sense =) Not sure a red and yellow will do much more shading that Sepia doesn't already do, its perhaps more prominant on smaller areas and cracks...

So I've been working on Fists again lately and finished a speeder and a LRC and 5 tacs. A thunderfire and 5 sniper scouts are also up as is a MM tactical marine.

    So the Tacs

    And the Speeder
