    Wargods models in Fantasy Battle

Now I know some of you play tournament games, however the Wargods minatures are at least the same standards of GW (Chris Fitzpatrick now sculpts for them).

They are however cheaper models that can offer greater conversion oppertunity when combined with what you already have.

Beastmen and Khemri players should certainly give them a look.

same could be said for Crocodile Games for Lizardmen and Black Tree for cheaper less detailled versions of models

I sense the impending rebirth of the alternative miniatures thread.

..and why not eh? Perhaps a few of the old sticky threads should be brought back. There's a reason they were sticky after all. People kept asking about those subjects.

Actually, I have used several Wargods minis in my TK army before. On the previous Portent, we had a number of threads talking about homegrown units of living auxilaries in TK armies, and Wargods minis are perfect for filling those roles.

I'm actually surprised at the quality of their models, esepcially their lizardmen which have a distinctly crocodilian slant to them. Through with a bunch of reptilian bipeds worshipping sobec, they must really be testing GW's IP Astartes.
Like the shark, the panda has millions of teeth which it uses like a hacksaw to cut through bone, candy, and fences

I keep clicking on the "human" Egyptians. Not really a bad price for 10 metal minies.

Um........another company, with minies that fit right in for Empire Old Glory has "historical" minies, that work out to be the same height as GW's when glued on 20mm bases. OG minies come on a small oval/egg shaped metal base. Spear/pike/javelin using troops need an addition of weapons. Minies don't normally require assembly. Detail is good, they paint up well.

Let's see.......16 plastic GW Bret. Men at arms $30(USA). OG will sell you THIRTY metal minies (halberds included) for $29(USA). Now, I bought pikemen for. 30 of them for $29(USA), plus $5(USA) for metal headed (pre cut) wire pikes (there's a choice of lengths).

Sadly, to date, all the Old Glory horses I've seen are smaller than GW's. OG's horses are scaled to reflect the real world(?). BUT, as I said: The foot are the same height as GW's when side by side after mounting on 20mm bases. They are close as far as bulkiness too. The weapons are more in scale than GW's.

Anyway, check them out at www.oldgloryminiatures.com

Those crocodile lizardmen guys are incredibly detailed(just saying) and i think that wargod models are cool and you should have some just for comparisons and what not(and for conversion ideas)
