    Re: Historical Rules

"Warrior" is "A Four Horsemen Enterprises Rule Set." They bought the rights to older rules for 3000 BC to 1485 wargaming rules.

I watched a Warrior tournie at Historicon 2011. I bought the rules. Now....I have to study/read the rules.

    www.fourhorsemenenterprises.com Worth checking out.

SAGA - Dark Ages skirmish scale by Studio Tomahawk and published, along with figure packs and special dice, by http://www.grippingbeast.com/

I highly recommend this one. I am not a huge fan of Skirmish games generally but this one is very good.

@Crazy Harborc, you may be studying a while - I understand they like to refer to their game as the 'PhD of Wargaming'.

    Cheers

I may have to re-visit this thread and start updating the first post. There have been a few releases since Colhodg started this thread.

    Re: Historical Rules

For Napoleonics I'm kind of found of http://www.leagueofaugsburg.com/ and their rulesset Republic to Empire. Looks way more complicated than it is but if you just read the rulebook carefully and play some practice games if works very well.

    Hi All-
Looks like no one's posted in a while. If anyone's still paying attention, I've found an awesome set of rules for historical skirmish gaming. It's called Brink of Battle. I've played a number of games with members of my gaming group and we all enjoyed the games immensely. One of the best things about the rule set is that it's not specific to any one historical period. It covers them all. Here's the website if you want to check it out.

    Re: Historical Rules

I just wanted to drop a line to this threat to point out that there's a good set of historical supplements for Mantic Games' Kings of War rules. These supplements take the Kings of War rules and provide lists and special rules to allow for play with historical armies! Supplements so far include:

    KoWHAC - Medieval Mayhem. 1100 CE - 1500 CE
    KoWHAC - Hoplon, Pike & Arrow. 700 BCE - 275 BCE
KoWHAC - The Viking Age. 750 CE - 1100 CE
    KoWHAC - Rome's Rise and Fall 400BCE - 500 CE

In order to use this you must download the Kings of War rules from Mantic Games for free from HERE

    Thanks

Guys do you know if I can buy Shako 2 by Conliffe in Europe? It seems to be an excellent rules set for napoleonic battles. Many thanks for reply

    Re: Historical Rules

Hi and welcome to Warseer, glevi.

Those rules really seem to be a bit hard to find for purchase in Europe. I didn't check everywhere but it seems you can get them fom Caliver Books (who have a huge range of ..pretty much everything): http://www.caliverbooks.com/bookview...=D&subcatno=70

It's not cheap but seems like you can get it there (along with a scenario book called rise of the eagle or something like that). Is that the ruleset you're looking for?
