Hey there :-),

I will hold my speech very short here, I think many people of the forum already know me as inventic Converter, chaos-influenced, aah....whatever.
Fact is, I have so many projects on the desk and I don't want to update them all in specific threads, only the ones which already excist, but we will see.
I thought you would be maybe interessted, since I also start some things which are always interesting to follow.
This Log will feature:

ORKS.
Influenced by many warseers here I had to start them as a longer lasting project. They will be kind of Deathskullz, featuring Rust, conversions and total madness, since I don't like the "too funny orks". I like the more..crazy.

Just a teaser: This nobz are missing details, chess patterns and stuff and bases. I don't think they are as good as many orks here, but I quite like them. Orks are so much fun to paint, a pleasure

TAU.

I love tau. and I love crisis.
I wanted to spray them in two montana gold colours, sheme will be kind of green /jade. Wayland is missing the sprays since a month so I cannot start them. At first I wanted to go with a technique seen on Jarhead's blog: Scratching the colour off the models to leave some rust and dirt, but now I have already started them. I have a green no-name colour at home so I went with that and drybrushed,highlighted etc. Also I have got pigments and they will be very weathered. The metal is also painted like that. If you take the colour straight of the pot and put in some times on the same place with the brush you will gain a great chipped and wornout look.

I went with magnets, but they are ALWAYS not in their places and the glue doesn't hold them, so I will glue the weapons on the crisis.
Two of them don't have them glued for a short weapon switch.
The drones are on magnet bases, though :-)

SISTERS OF BATTLE.

A long dream comes true.
In WD 100 I have seen a really nice colour sheme so I went for it, I always wanted to. Also I love the penitent engine or what it is called in english.
Note: All the armies will be nearly 1k points, not much more.

CHAOS.

You cannot escape Chaos.
I will slowly, very very slowly start a new chaos force here.
The Idea is a Khorne Army with Necromancers.
Goes like this: Khorne isn't supposed to have casters, he stands for slaughtering all. But, the casters aren't creating anything "new", they are calling for the death!. The deamons in this army will all be skeletons, greater daemon a great skeletton.
This project will take time and orks, tau and SoB stand before them.
Just to let you guys know who liked my Chaos stuff.

I nearly finished the harlequins as you can see, with patterns and stuff.
I didn't like the fact, that the "whips" aren't actually whips, sooo...I did them myself and like them A LOT better, much more dynamic like this.

wow, some great conversions, paticularly the GS'ing on the Farseer above - very intricate work!

As for the Orks, great work - all battered as they should be. Try overbrushing (heavy drybrush) on the brown belts then wash them in dev mud... its easy and give a nice effect.

Mart: I don't have devlan here, but I get your point. I will try to make some stripes in it to give the leather more texture.
Sadly to say, the TAU updates will be on hold for some time more. Waylandgames cancelled the spray and I have to order it new, If I want to. I have waited nearly 4 weeks for the spray, dang.
But I will get pigments soon :-)

And for updated. The things posted here isn't everything I have. I have many kroots, kroot hounds, 7 crisis, 2 tanks, firewarriors and stuff left.
For Orks I will go for meganob conversions from Tau Ghosts, any Ideas how to make the energyclaws? I cannot get them on bits shops, always sold out. SoB have more sisters and even 2 priests

I got no cam for a week now, so expect some updates next week. I don't know what to start, so I will do whatever I like haha :-) But I expect you want to see the orks and harlequins finished.

Thanks, I have to point out if I should either paint blending from light to dark on the whips or to chose different spots and do it there, like energy jumping around in the whip. I think I will go with the second one.

I am right into painting them, as said no camera til the end of the week, though. I also scratchbuilt/converted 2 meganobs now and sprayed them haha anyone got ork nob heads left? just send them me

The arm is from a confrontation model and I have 3 of them left for other casters. The rust is painted with watered down fiery orange,, like that you will get the brown colour, to add a good contrast just add it from the pot to the place you want it then.
Seems you like the rust.
And I just got my Vallejo pigments now.
Maybe I will try to paint my Tau without the spray, we will see.

Thanks mate :-) yes, wasn't sure at first but it surely turned out pretty nice.
A shame that I did the rust on them before I got my pigments, but I like the old, painted rust, too. It is also not so time consuming as pigments..
alright :-) Next updates will be some Tau, though
I really like them so far, but at first tomorrow: Math ending exam, but I think after this I can weather more crisis.

As promised the updates to the weekend.
I managed to finish my orks with basing, chess patterns, the cables, the eyes/lenses and all :-)

First of the orks:

On to the TAU, I am pretty pleased with how they look. They are from the Sept Tash'var, according to the codex hard, battle-experienced and have much courage.

Many are converted, went with different backpacks, stances, heads..
I went with a battered and weathered look, also on the bases, but I kept the markings clean because they pay attention to their rang and they honour their suits. I also kept the important parts of the weapons white due to the case that the weapons need to be ready, nevermind the fact that Tau weapons should work always, though. You just don't want to be on the battlefield and your suit cannot fire...also the white contrasts nicely.

The teams consists of Shas'vres and two Shas'os. The Shas'os have a middle part of the leg marked and have short-long-short stripes. Also their head edges are white. The Shas'vres have short-long-short stripes on the right leg, following their leaders and they have short-long stripes on the torso.
As you can see I tried to make markings that belong to each other.

Some of the weapons are magnetized but as said I glued most of them on the suits, since the glue and magnets didn't work well. I also did a shield effect for my Shas'o, it is swapable. The eyes are painted in a purple (tried to make good lenses this time) and finished with varnish.

still lovin the look of the Orks!

and the tau are lookin great as well. i also like the one battlesuit with the shield up. on that clear base you used are you going to paint effects on it like you did for that wraithlord awhile back?

also, i like the FW tau suits, the smoothed ones. the curves on those fits in alot better than the boxy bodies to the curves of their tanks an everything.
