The Dreadnought conversion is superb but I can't help but feel that the NMM is ruining it. Though I'm not a fan of NMM as an idea at all, so I'm probably biased, but at the moment it looks very, very grey.

Merci, then you will like the update, looks much better now and pics are quite good, too.
Haha that comes from the melee weapons, but I think they suit chaos, the work well and more..menancing than the standard cybot ones..and then I don't want to use standard things again haha :-)

Merci, glad you mention it :-) Maybe I find some conversion parts again and start another one :-)

    Hey Malus :-),
thanks indeed but hm, then just look at the pics in this post. I completed the nmm now and it looks much better, I think I will stay with it. yes it is a bit grey but I quite like it :-) But as said, I think it looks even better now,

    what do you all think?

The rest to go and the base. I think a contrast dark green base or some lighter brown stones, I will make a just-as pic and you could help me decide, I think I will go with green, though.

I like the dread and your NMM. looks really nice, especially on the Khorne symbol as Mart007 stated.

the only thing that gets me are the "shoulders". i think having them will finish off the dread look personally plus it will cover up the arm joints.

    Hey :-),
I suppose you mean the ones with the weapons on it? I dont have any of them, I bought the cybots in bits. yeah, you can see the joints but the fact is I will get some aegis set or something like this sometime and so I can switch the weapons (of course I will go more melee, though).

Thanks for praising the nmm, I really like some honest oppinions and things for this work since it encourages me to work more with nmm (like the 2nd dread). Yes I think the final white lining and highlights finish it off nicely.

Hope some other like this updates as well, I am doing my very best :-)

    Short mash up:
Which base to go? Snow or green?
I think the snow base will work better.
I also painted the skull, did tidy up and painted some small cables but not too many to distract from the red.
    C&c appreciated guys.

    Definitely the snow.

I love it but the joints on the arms look a bit feeble.

    merci, thought so, too :-)
Hm do you mean with the arms attached or without? Fact is I want to keep it swapable. If I cut the arm joints of the body and attach the arms closer to the body it would be better I think, but spikes and things of one arm do prevent this. Also they hold good this way, if I drill another hole I think they will be hanging down, wouldn't be good :/..oh man, shall I or shall I not, I don't know haha

I also vote snow, brings out the red in a far more pleasing way.

The nmm is great, you've done a stunning job with the dred.

Re: Nocturn's Almighty Push - Everything left on the desk!

So I have finished the dread :-) And also a teaser for you how the next dread will look like. Don't know if I do him nmm yet, as I want to personalize my chaos army as much as possible. I think I will go back again, cut the body joints off and pinning with two sticks, since it seems after some time the arms don't look as they are supposed to look.

Hope you like the finished dread, snow was a way to go.

    A "Damn.." shot:

sorry noc should have said - with Snow, best way to get a deep effect is to mix with PVA and apply. Looking good though

Thanks you all, glad you like the first dread and the incoming second. Have to get names for them, though.

Rev: I wanted to put another layer of snow on it besides this comment :-) So It will get a bit more snowy I guess..Maybe I will add a bit of grass on a small place to break the huge white surface.
I also drilled double holes on each arm, they are now attached much stronger. I also have to repaint some areas again, but now it is better haha :-)

    Thanks for the input, mates.

Well the layering of the NMM could be a bit smoother, but everybody sees what you're wanna show, so the NMM looks actually pretty good (that's no offense, infact I think this technic is quite difficult 6to manage properly, and again yours is convincing!). In general your dreads are looking really cool!

I really like the crazed dread pose and the paint job you gave him is really nice. NMM is awesome. Looking forward to seeing the next one.

Great dreadnaughts! The marks totally fits the design and they really look like there's someone in there who wants to get out. Great job man!

how do you paint your rusty blue on those orks? im really interested to try it out on my own death skulls.

i think the NNM on the dread looks fine, only problem is the circle blade go's to its highlight a bit to quick in the middle.

    keep up the good work

Thanks and yes, I know what you mean :-) (I didn't take it as offense but as constructive critique, thanks :-)) Merci :-)

Was a bit fiddly to get this poses, since my actual glue is another one, so I had to hold the dreads in this poses haha. Thank you, glad you like it :-)
Next one is already at NMM, Maybe I will finish him today..

Hey El Aartos, thank you very much :-)
Haha, that is how chaos is supposed to look :-) Merci.

Hey Havokas :-), the rusty blue is painted like this:
    1.Dark blue or turquoise
    2.Boltgun drybrush
3.Dark blue or turquoise drybrush, leaving some boltgun shining trough.
4.Fiery Orange, thinned down a bit. It gets brown when it dries.
To add more contrast just go with orange straight out of the pot, but thin lines.

    Hope that helps :-)
About the blade and the blending: it is supposed to look like this to let the blades work as eyecatcher, too, with the pure white there.
I didn't want to blend it and also thought about weathering it, but I think I leave it as it is :-)
Thanks for pointing out, though :-)

Wow, thanks for the replies, really keeps me going.
As stated above I already started the nmm on the next dread :-)

Re: Nocturn's Almighty Push - Everything left on the desk!

As promised I painted the day trough and here is the second dread.

Also thought of names for the guys.
The dread with the charging/bodychecking pose is Despair,
the dread with the open arms/crazed pose is Greed.

As you can see I also put more snow on the bases on some places and added some farn to break up the white bases.
    Hope you like it:

    "Oh crap."

And the both, Despair & Greed

Now I have two of them haha :-),
