To the Streets! Reaper's Imperial City.

Yoyo people, my project this summer is a game board.

I’ve wanted to have my own board for some years but time, money and space have always been my enemy. Well in September I’ll be moving into a new house with Concrete Hero and several of our other friends. I will be having the big room, which has enough space to accommodate a game board, so. . . I’m going to make one.

It will be modular, split into 2*2 feet sections that have the buildings free floating to aid storage. I’ve planned it all out to have a grid like road system which will make it more customizable.

In total, the board will have 14 buildings as well as various other features (E.G power planet, fuel dump, a square with a statue)

Anyway, enough yapping, onto some piccies:

    My first three buildings:

    The fuel dump WIP

    The power generator WIP

I’m really pleased with my progress so far, I’ve only been working on this for a week or so.

I’ve got one of the Pegasus hobbies buildings coming in the mail (the one with a big circle stained glass looking window, set 2 I think) which I’ll be using as a church. I’ve also got a big building built which will be a hospital/xenos lab. I’ll be buying the forge world dissection table come pay day.

Anyway, hope you’ve enjoyed what you’ve seen so far. Feel free to leave a comment, they are all greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Reaper

A very sound start to some good terrain!

My one comment would be on the papers on the floor. Have you considered using a little watered down brown wash to weather them slightly? They wokk a bit pristine atm!

Looks good from what I can see on me phone. Will have a propper look when I get home in the morning. I see I'm not the only one to sacrifice a pc to the terrain gods.

Nice, though you might want to make sure to put at least one open space per five buildings, maybe more.

    Very impressive
I like the realistic wartorn city theme. The small details and the fuel and generators are a nice addition.
    I'll be watching...

    The church:

That's all for now, I'm still working on the church but once that's finished it'll be onto a hospital/quarantine building.

LOL! "In the event of an emergency, pray for deliverance." That is GREAT! How did you make the posters and warning signs? Absolutely love it. Reminds me of a Warmachine Menoth terrain building I saw online. It had something to the effect of "Wile purging the gentiles, please keep safety a priority."

Looks good. The church kinda looks like it's missing something but I'm not sure what.

Thanks, i collected various posters from all around the net and combined them into a single sheet. If anyone wants a copy, please PM me with your email address

I think what it's missing at the moment is colour? it's only in the early stages at the moment. It's only been drybrushed. I still need to add details, posters, weathering and the organ. The un-testured L shaped ared outside the church will become a graveyard complete with tombstones and.....ZOMBIES, once the rest has been painted, so there will be some lovely green in my city

If you paint the edges of the signs where the paper is cut the same colour as the printed ink it looks better IMHO

A dirty wash on the church will help bring out the wall texture.

Hummm, the only complaint/nitpick of mine is this, "Oh, look, thats a nice ruined wall you've got there." "No, Its a ruined church! " "All I see is a box and a wall, wheres the rubble?"

If it is such a huge building, there should be at least some of it left after it got ruined that isn't standing up.

If you wait long enough, there won't be any rubble left:

Very nice, but there's one thing you need to do! You need to go get some brown washes, like Devlan Mud and Gryphonne Sepia and dirty up the place! Especially "metal" parts will look a lot better when rusty!

    Keep up the good work!

There's no rubble around the church (V nice, that Pegasus Gothic building, btw. I've got 3 of them) but if the guard were using it, they would have some kind of fortification to cover the gaps, even if it's only sandbags and some scrim netting.

A very good start on them though.
