Those completed battlesuits look spiffy, jolly good indeed .

Also, I think what makes your bases so unique and cool is that you've painted everything with the same dusty finish, not re-done the metals, which looks excellent , I'm going to have to try it out some time.

Glad the link is of use. Here's a tutorial which might help you.

    http://www.twfigurines.de/main/workshop/photos.htm

Keep going MPH, i can't wait to see some good shots. I did some tau models and i am quite happy with how they look. What kind of camera you using? With my little kodak i can take pictures like this

With a mode called backlight. If your camera has this function i would suggest it. That combined with autofocus gives you shots like this

    Hope this helps

Orcdom: on my camera it has an icon called the scenes icon, you click the camera onto that icon and you can scroll through different modes of taking photos. Two really good modes on my camera is one for taking pictures of flowers and the other is the backlight mode. Have a look in your manual and see if there is anything like that.

Sorry for the thread-no-mancy. I'm just posting to say that I'M SHAMELESSLY STEALING YOUR ARMOUR COLOUR! MUHAHAHAHA!

Seriously, though, it's almost exactly what I was looking for. I love it.

I wish there was more stuff painted. I love this camo scheme and am using it for my tau (though I am going for orange optics)

    Gritty tau- I like
Much more appealing (imo) than the bright colour schemes
    Keep it up

Re: Tau - a break from guard

Wow, a blast from the past! Thanks for the compliments!

Pariah: The "dirt" was very simple. I started with a basecoat of the armour colour (in this case a mix close to chardon granite.. I finished the army right before foundations came out..), and then I added a brown ink wash in the cracks/in light streaks from them. Then I added the paint scratches with tin bits followed by mithril silver. To top it all off I used a light drybrush of bleached bone (very light, I used a makeup brush).

Actually, before the wash of bleached bone there was a light drybrush of.. graveyard earth? on the lower legs. Slightly heavier than the bone drybrush.

I'm actually in the process of updating the army, as I'm sure I can do better now. May not get to it until the christmas break, but something to look forward to I guess
