    JT's Plog o' Plod

Okay, because this plog is just so random, I'll be making an index for completed projects, for those who can't be bothered to plough through everything...
    So here goes:
Bloodbowl - Boar Centuar (Yes, boar, not bull)
WHFB - Wood Elf Army Shot (scroll down to see individual shots)
40K - Space Marines (scroll down to see individual squads)
    Some small terrain
    A Bloodbowl Ogre
6mm Persian Immortals (scroll down a little, after the undercoated Ushabti)
    WHFB - TK Skeleton Cavalry
40k 2nd rhino and WHFB TK Tomb Scorpion

    Ushabti
    A Liche Priest
Khalida and the Tomb Kings first army shot
    Completed Halflings sculpts
A Tomb King, 3 Carrion and another Liche Priest
    Skeleton Spearmen

Well, this is not my first plog, having stalled in 2 that I've started. I tried to split up my projects into categories, but updating them separately has become a chore especially when my updates are not all that frequent, so I figured since i'm constantly working on something hobby-related, and that it's not always the same army or project all the time, i'm going to lump everything into one plog.

So first up! Blood bowl is close to my heart, so the first pic for the plog is this:

I'm done with the sculpting bit and am quite psyched to paint it. Yea I know it's a boar centaur, not a bull centaur, but I just couldn't help it, y'know? One of those moments.

What else is probably coming up in this blog? Well, I collect wood elves, fantasy daemons and space marines (yea who doesn't eh? ) so there'll be more stuff along these lines coming along. I also love blood bowl so there'll be stuff coming up with respect to that.

Generally, as the title says, this is going to be a relatively slow plog. It'll be more the plodding along of an old fart pinching at his models a bit everyday than the rabid brush-balding type that some of the young uns here seem to be capable of doing . HOpe you'll enjoy the plog as much as I enjoy putting together the models.

I love that centaur, he's so ... chunky! Are you sculpting an entire team?

@Warh: Thanks for the link and the comment! I'll check the CD web community out later.

@jlimb_123: Glad that you like the centaur I'm not sculpting the entire team, just 2 upper bodies of the centaurs. I bought the CD team some time ago already (they're 'Hashut's All Blacks") and am just adding another dimension to the team. are you a CD fan too?

okay, I'm back with some updates.

Some more blood bowl WIP projects. I have an ogre team (called "Sundered Land" -- guess where that came from ) on the way...

and a converted witch elf (also WIP) for a dark elf team (the "Sea Dragons") :

not much to look at yet, but not to worry, more to come...

also, a fantasy samurai project I'm working on...

Well, that's all for now folks. I'll be back when I've got more to show...

ah yes, I'm planning to get them cast once I finish up the other variations. I've got 2 or 3 more troopers in the works. The next one is almost done, just sculpting the head now. I'll post up pics when I'm done with it. I have very hopeful plans to sculpt a fantasy 'nipponese' army of some sort, but you know how it is with projects, so I'm taking this one unit at a time and hopefully, 'every drop' will make the 'ocean' someday.

    Thanks for lookin'

    Re: JT's Plog o' Plod

The boar centaur looks very good.
The Samurai is very well sculpted, too. Certainly a lot of people would like to get their hands on fantasy nipponese minis (I suppose you have seen the fan created armybook), though the eastern world is not my cup of tea personally.
Very much looking forward to seeing more of your Blood Bowl Ogres. I've started converting a team myself ages ago, though in a simpler way as I can't sculpt.

    Re: JT's Plog o' Plod

@EmperorNorton: Thanks for your comments. Have you played the blood bowl Ogre team before? I've been trying to wrap my head around how to play the them but you know how it is, trying to imagine it and actually playing it. What kind of line up is good?

I've seen the fan-created army book for the nipponese army, though I've not tried it. Where can I go to see people's feedback on it? Also, it's probably more geared towards 7th ed? I'm just wondering how it would play in 8th, and if the creators have plans to update it for 8th?

okay, so I'm back here with the next odachi samurai. He was actually my first sculpt for this particular unit (so yea, i don't actually sculpt that fast ) but there were issues with his head and I had to go and resculpt it several times. Well, I think I'm quite okay with this iteration, so hopefully, it works. Comments welcome, of course.

    Re: JT's Plog o' Plod

    Again a very nice sculpt.
I don't think I've ever seen a mini before that's in the process of drawing their sword, that's pretty cool.

Regrettably I've never had the chance to play the Ogre team. I shied away from it because I really don't see how the team would work.

On the site of the creators, I guess, although there isn't much in the way of feedback yet.
The guy behind the project seems very enthusiastic, so I'm sure he'll make any updates needed for 8th Ed.

    Re: JT's Plog o' Plod

thanks EmperorNorton! I was a little worried about it because I had to keep going back to resculpt the head.

As for the ogre team, I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to wrap my head around how to play it. The ogres are strong but there's a chance of bonehead. Then the snotlings can dodge but there's not much chance of a good pass when it's needed. Also, not exerting tackle zones is something hard to cope with. Still puzzling over this one.

hm... the site for the nippon army book seems to be down at this point. I'll pop by again when it's back up.

Well, I've finally painted my bull centaur, so here it is:

I'll take pics of it with the rest of the team another time (probably after the 2nd centaur gets done).

Edit: Aargh, forgot to add grass flock to the base. Well, that's the next task then...

thanks bluewolf! I'm glad I can move on to the next variation for this unit. It feels a lot closer to the finish line with these 2 odachi samurai done. Also started work on the next centaur. Will post up pics when it's more than a blob of green stuff

thanks for the encouragement, Phunkmanyeman and leonmallet!

Of late, I've been trying to think of ways to persuade some of my buddies to give games other than both the *hammer systems a try. It's an uphill battle, it seems. any advice?
