Woo,
Finally managed to do some modelling
Between getting a band up and running, Finishing uni, DJing at 2 of my resident nights, moving house, getting drunk, going too the beach and seeing the boyfreind I have had very little time for the hobby. I managed to find some tho.

I refined the proposed army list and came up with several decent proxies me tinks.

Not entirely sure on the fluff for the Army as a whole yet tho, only really that their Sphere ended up near too Armageddon...

The whole lot comes just under 1500 points.
Its not a great army list, I dont think a Kroot army is ever going to become a top tier army list!
The tactics for it are rather simple.

The 2 Stalker Kindred units are held in reserve too outflank.
The Master shaper/Warwheel and Shaman/Firewarriors are on anti tank duty.
The 2 naked Kroot carnivore kindreds advance onto the enemy alongside the Vultures aiming to time an attack with the Stalker Kindreds.
The 2 hunter units sit back and provide covering/distracting fire.

And for now, some of the Hunters/Sniper drones.

I havent done much too the Kroot rifles other than adding a scope and removing the blades. I want to track down 6 auspexs so I can attack them too the rifles to represent motion detectors and to reinforce the sniper look of the unit.

Still got a few mouldlines and stuff to clean up, gsing too!
Not too sure what scheme and base im gonna go with yet either!

A friend and I had a discussion about making a kroot army from the tau empire codex. Good to see you've had a similar idea. We came up with suitable ideas for almost every codex entry.

It's nice to see the idea being implemented though. The firesupport team are looking good.

There's a kroot mercenary army list in one of the Chapter Approved. He's using that.

I'm actually using the Tau empire codex, its much easier to play it legally, alot of the entries are easy enough to proxy and keep krootly themed

Another all stop & change for me,
Started bullet pointing some ideas and wrote a new army list.

As much as I would prefer to use C:TA it wasent what I hoped for, after rereading the old Merc list decided to create a list basde upon the Dark Eldar, thanks to the ole counts as rule, after some messing around I think I got a list which isent too bad!

I like the use of ghouls in your army its a nice combo. But the list that Andy Hoare made allows you to take Great Knarlocs which is actually a pretty good list a full of all sorts of fun stuff

Got to ask, but why all the 40mm bases?

and, have you tried a normal Kroot head on the dammed, at all just to tie them in a bit more?

Otherwise, you got some great looking conversion, on the way that I look forward to seeing painted.

The 40mm bases are just to enhance the dynamic nature of the unit really, I may rebase, at the moment thats all I had

I had seen the list Kompletely Kroot & Andy Hoare had made, its pretty solid and I like it, sadly its an unnoficial one.

I do plan on building a full army so it could be run using both the Tau empire codex with some of the forgeworld books and as a dark eldar army.

Currently im building it around the Dark Eldar codex (current version) as it sorta fits in with my theme for them, eating eldar etc

The latest Kroot Merc Armylist although unofficial all you need is your opponents approval and most Tournaments will go over the rules and se if they deem them fair. But is a good idea to have an alternate list being Tau which you can use some units as counts as.

Im not too sure about the Dark Eldar/Kroot list but thats just me I will have to wait and see how it turns out to make my final judgement

Well the Dark Eldar do have about the same armor save...
I think the choice is a good fit, but not sure how well it will be game-wise though. The only other idea would be to use Orks, but there are to many Orks and counts-as-Orks as it is.
Hopefully they will expand the Kroot in the next Codex.

I like the idea, but seeing how stealth suits have burst cannons, and mandrakes have a teeny tiny pistol.. I can't really see how you get a weapon that would work in both cases.

Nice Kroot, took me awhile to find this thread, I had to go to your profile, you should sig. it.

Nice use of Crypt Ghouls. What happened to your DKOK? Can I have them? Only thing I see is I think you have too much grass on the base.

I changed my plan slightly, gonna make my kroot so it can be run as both variations, just so I can do more conversions
This is gonna be another long term plog

Dont worry about the bases, their only temporary, This force is gonna be full out swamp bases, got the water effect, just not too sure how im gonna do it, probs some of the larger bases will have jungle ruins etc, thats my thoughts atm a mix between jungle and swamp
