Thread: My Painting blog.

  1. #1

    My Painting blog.

Guess I'll start one of these up. First project up is the Tau XV-9.

I should have this one finished in the next day or two as the only thing left is the left arm. After that, I'll probably finish up my squad of broadsides. As always, all comments and tips are welcome.

New updates. Yeah, I'm a slow painter. 90% completed. Still need to tidy it up a bit, think I'll redo the chest since I changed how I do weathering halfway through the model. Just to make it fit in more. And of course I need to finish the "Fuel Rods" for the weapons. Believe it or not, those things are a pain.

I'm not sure, but I feel that there is too much blue on the model. I might just re-do the bottoms of the weapons to Khaki to tone it down some.

It looks... sandy? eh? Too much "sand" colour. I think you should put some another colour than Khaki, one that contrasts well with khaki, Violet would do of course, but if you like them just like that it's okay dude. And of course, that is a great camouflage colour. Could i have a Cookie? Cookie?

    Cheers,

Cookie for you. I actually wanted a more nuetral color scheme. I dont think the lighting is helping any. I'll post some finished pics here soon and I'll make sure i use softer lights. Tau suits are hard to paint as when you break them down into pieces, they only look good with 2-3 colors. You have your main armor pieces, then their highlights, then their undersides and thats it.

Thanks for the cookie! In fact, you paint Tau better than I...., But you don't have a Ork army i suppose?

I think it would be great idea to paint them before you even assemble them, straight from the frame...

I pretty much did. I hate painting completed models as they have hard to reach spaces. I put the chest and legs together on this one, then one arm, then the head, and finally the other arm.

Updates are coming, I promise. Left the model at our gaming place. I'll grab it first chance I get. Also, re-doing R'Myr in this style, then on to my regular suits.

]Its been awhile. Finally got back into painting and I'm working on some random models. My latest is a Daemon Prince of Nurgle. I'm not one for the messy nurgle, mostly because I don't know how to do them, but I prefer a cleaner looking model. Hope you like.

Hes about 85% complete. I'm not happy with the sword but I'm having trouble finding ideas that would match the model. I though about doing the symbols and such in a glowing venomous green, but don't know what to do with the rest of the sword.

    Re: My Painting blog.

Well, I was going to link the site but they no longer sell them. I bough it off the armypainter.com store. That means the last two packages I have have to last the rest of my nid/daemon army...

Heres my first Fallen Dark Angel using Chaos Space Marine models. Doesn't look too "chaotic" does he?

Those aren't spikes on my hands....the're uh....close combat weapons! Yeah.

Ive noticed that CSM are rather small when compared to Khorne Beserkers...
