Just received the Collectors Figures of the Dwarf and the Throwing Dogs. Very Nice! I like these a lot.

Also received the Mantic Paints of War that I ordered. Looking forward to trying these out. Has anyone else here given them a go yet?

And special thanks to Chris and Clive over at Mantic for getting my order to me safe and sound. Thanks Guys!

Still didn't get any of that fancy schmancy foam though...

How many of the collectors figs do you have, Darsc? Are they easy to assemble and impressive as they look on the site? I ordered the skeleton last week, looking forward to getting it.

I've got at least one of each. The ones I'm most impressed with are the elf with spear and the ghoul. Although I have to say that the dwarf and throwing dogs are also looking very nice.

They do require a bit of cleanup to remove the plugs and other excess resin. If you haven't worked with resin before, you might want to check the sticky in the the MP&T Forums on Warseer for advice. I use a two part 5 minute epoxy and once the parts are cleaned up they fit together Very well.

The skeleton is in only two pieces, torso and legs, so he's an easy assembly. Did you buy a square base for him? Otherwise he'll just have the round one he's molded to.

I'm surprised that these haven't sold out quickly, but then Mantic are still very new as a company, and considering the price, these are for the more serious collector who wants to add something special to his display case.

Yeah I thought with only 75 they would go quickly. The limited number made me wonder why there is a 2 week lead time to make them though, surely they don't need such a limited number if they are making them to order anyway.. I did buy a square base for it, and yeah I've bought a few forgeworld things so I have a bit of experience with resin. Not really fond of it, but I can work it.

The two week lead time is because each figure is cast by hand to order, so it is specially made for you. The quality of our resin caster is unbeatable IMO, it is one of the most funnest things about my job getting to go to there and see what they are up too, some of the stuff they have there is mind blowing!

Ay I realise the two week lead is because they are made to order, my wonder was why a limit of 75 if they are made to order? Unless the profit margin is really small I guess?
