This is worth considering. I'm likely to change my work shifts after this week so will be able to arrange games much easier at weekends, and will also be able to travel so alternative venues are always good.

For the 6th I'm not able to travel unfortunately but for the next meet I think that would be good?

jack da greenskin, I felt the same as you at first when I found out the same - and having a hard time getting the wife to play sometimes, meant that I resorted to begging on here. As it is I've been fortunate. If you can travel, you're not all that far away for when we have other get togethers.

Only three days to go. The Space Hulk has dropped out of the warp and the marines are on their way.

I see no issues. My broodlord is nearly painted. My marines are marshalled.

The only thing I have to do is go to gw to pick up my stormraven and furioso in the morning, then on the way.

E.T.A. is noon.

I plan on getting some soft drinks in but otherwise I hadn't thought of that yet. I was thinking pizza takeaway in the evening, but suggest some nibbles and that can be sorted too. Are there any allergies etc?

Argh, the God's have conspired against me my friends! Nurgle has struck me down this week and I've been more or less bed ridden. Had been hoping I'd be all sorted for the weekend but as it is, it aint looking good And just when I thought there could be nothing worse than missing a day of Space Hulk I see I'll be missing pizza too! The world is a cruel, cruel place.

If I make a miraculous recovery I'll let you know, but otherwise hope you guys have fun, take a few pics and hopefully fate wont slap me in the face the next time there's a get together!

That's a big shame Inandantia, I hope that you recover from Nurgle's Rot soon, but if not hopefully the next meet won't be long coming.

We will pretend the pizza was awful so you don't feel so bad, and if we remember pics would be a good idea too, just so you can see what we got up to!

Well the first Hulk meet occurred and we managed to get four games in. I won one and Matt won three, but the Marines had two victories to two for the genestealers so overall a fairly balanced day. We played missions 4, 6, 7, and 11.

Unfortunately the photos I took haven't come out very well at all, but there were some very close moments and we were both rooting for each other at different times purely for the drama of it.

Two silly mistakes on my part meant that I lost the Librarian early on to side attacks because I hadn't even bothered to check. So I deserved that!

Memorable occurances were Brother Claudio duelling with a stealer for three rounds before finally getting the better of it, and also killing many others over the games. The Broodlord made an appearance in our final game at the most critical part of the game, slaying the sergeant and meaning that the last marine alive had no ammo or company, and despite this, he was slain by a genestealer surviving a flamer hit and then running through the flames to kill him. I've never seen so many 1's in a row before!

It was great to get some games in against a different opponent, and I think we both learnt some new tricks.

Onwards to the next meet, and I hope more can attend. Matt (Brightblade) will have the address details for the next meet when we can make it.

Still being played in remote American Werewolf in London style Yorkshire.

Had a first play of Mission 6:Alarm call (the first Librarian scenario) last night.

- Really enjoyable, Librarian introduces a lot of tactical possibilities (slowed my decision making right down, and upped the pressure).

- Managed to get the Librarian/Sgt and standard marine almost to the crossroad leading to the exit but stalled, ran out of psi-points and was overwhelmed by a massed concentration of xenos :O

Liked this one- the prior mission is quite hard on the stealer player I found (long corridors=xeno shooting gallery till the last corners).

We played that one too! Like all missions one mistake or a bad roll and it is very difficult to get out. Loads of opportunity for cool, cinematic moments though.

Last stands are so cool.

Right guys, after my last appalling attempt at clearing a hulk out, I'm gearing up towards planning the next meeting. First I have a fantasy (probably) meeting in a few weeks, so this is to arrange players for maybe a month or so? Location not set yet, possibly the other location discussed above, or my place if not available.

Playing a different opponent really tested my tactics and made me make some really stupid errors (like blocking every corridor but the one with a stealer able to eat me from the side - doh!) with the off-putting differences in style. This has made me want to play with others more and more, and hopefully a rematch with my last foe to resettle honour!

Any thoughts?

Well after having to miss the first meeting (curse you immune system!) I'm definatly up for the second. Shall you be looking at the end of March/some time in April? Obviously a bit far away to be considering dates but I'm sure I could get a weekend free and be able to travel.
