A couple of crappy comparison pics, the sunlight seemed scared to come out today and once again had to rely on my trusty nokia to take some snaps, camera's sorted but the bloody data cable has gone for a walk

there are slight differences between the alice's with the rabbit and pistol, one has high heels and is slightly taller and the other is wearing big hefty boots, pure coolness

    And some more

of all of them i think Alyx (last pic) is the best, i've made her like most others i've seen with her teddy and pistol, hopefully pick anouther one up soon to make one with a magic wand and spell book, honestly cannot recommend hasslefree highly enough, order came through nice and safely, with a nice little thank you note and a sweetie

Re: Ned paints at the speed of an asmatic snail

Picked up some slow drying gel and some flow enhancer for my paints, makes my paints slower drying (funnily enough) and gives me a more transparent coat, but they are making the paints quite glossy but a matt varnish at the end should fix this,

quite bad pics of the cheerleader but best i could manage, maybe 2 more coats on the skin then finish the hair and get some more red wash on the pom-poms then she's ready for a basing

Get some paint on those Hasslefree mini's!
I can't wait to see them when they are finished. I've been considering getting something from them for a while but I really need to focus on shifting my backlog before adding more toys to the pile.

Nice log. If you don't mind I'll continue to drop by every now and then

Those are some really nice figs from Hasslefree Nice progress on the cheerleader, although I still shudder at the thought of a goblin in a miniskirt

I'm also lookin' forward to your paintjobs on the new minis, although I'd also like to see those Reaper ones

had to strip two of the ladies () as i wasn't happy with the undercoat or basecoat, just waiting for the undercoat to dry again and then i can start once again, also knocked the teddy arm off little alyx so pinned it this time, little bit of green stuff on her shoulder and she'll be ready to spray, pics to follow

best i'm getting at the min (well at 2 in the morning anyways ) found the cable for the digi cam and was sat playing around with it for ages until we found out that for for some strange reason sony thought it best not to include a macro function on their dsc-s600 so i'm stuck with my nokia N95 till we can get hold of a camera that does have close up mode

well, don't worry about it then Just post up the pics best you can and it should be all good.

By the by, did you put blue tack around the neck of your paint pots? Is that to slow down the drying up of the paint?

Re: Ned paints at the speed of an asmatic snail

just stuck the blue tack on only to hold the figures on with, these ol' pots dried out many years ago

me and green don't agree when it comes to highlighting, seriously dissapointed with my painting on this figure (even though its only the dress) seriously debating if i should strip it once again and start over,

I actually quite like the green (it's kinda an emerald sort of green, is it?). Perhaps a little more highlighting and shading will win you over? It's a lovely color on a lovely fig, and a potentially lovely paintjob.

Did you get some of that green on the back of her forearms or am I seeing things again ?

Re: Ned paints at the speed of an asmatic snail

lol yeah its only a base coat of dwarf flesh on her so far so easily repaintable, cheers dude it looks quite rough up close on the back maybe due to the white in the highlights,

was thinking about trying the whole dress using catachan green as theres just something not right with it at the min, photos haven't shown it up at all but there are some quite extreme highlights on it going from dark angels green up to skull white but i gave it a bit of a glaze whn i'd finished as the highlights were a bit too extreme

but this time i'll make sure she don't look like she's redecorated her house with paint all over her before i post pics

Re: Ned paints at the speed of an asmatic snail

Unfortunately it's hard to see anything due to the photograph. It just looks like a base coat of green without highlights

If you really hate the green, you could try using a green base coat and a quick wash?
Although you probably want a better finish than that on such a nice mini

yeah i'm going to strip it again later on today, think the glaze killed off the highlights a bit to much, ah well third time lucky lol
