lookin' forward to it!Give it a good go, it's worth the effort. Gradual thin layers of paint, and job's a good un.

And with the speed of a thousand startled gazelle's(ish) i'm back.
An illness in the family has meant i've hardly been able to paint until recently but there has been some progress (but still need to finish the base completely)
and because he was undercoated and i've always fancied trying yellow on a large scale
Got a few things to do on my doomwheel then thats done
And even my missus has done some painting too,
its her fourth figure ever
Hopefully getting a new airbrush in the next two weeks then i've got the old Azhag the slaughterer and the current orc and wyvern (not Azhag) to get started, plus WHQ empire noble and warrior priest, plague furnace my missus got me for valentines day ('cos nothing says love like diseased rats) and plenty more after that.
Hope this time i can keep getting some painting done each day Yay me etc....
Wish my fourth figure would have looked so nice, or my twentieth for that matter.
Splendid job on the yellow Marine and the Doomwheel btw.
cheers for the kind comments mate,
yeah tell me about it, i still have a few of my first figures and they look like i've just dipped them in various paints rather then use a brush, she's dead keen to learn painting and certainly has more then enough figures to practise on,
The latest paintjobs you did are absolutely brilliant! The cheerleader turned out great and the doomwheel just looks amazing. I also like the weathering on the marine. How did you do the weathering?
And have to chime in on the praise on your missus's painting. My fourth mini never got anywhere close to this standard, never mind on such a large model.
Great stuff all round!
cheers JT, devlan mud and graveyard earth heavily watered down and sort of glazed on the muddy area's then drybrushed with graveyard earth then bestial brown and a quick go over with watered down black wash at the end. other area's were just done with a few coats of black wash.
My missus says cheers too, she's got a 54mm Reaper Sophie to paint and she wants to get some river or stone trolls just becasue they are big and ugly (they look like me she says)
great work so far looking forward to seeing more try and get your missus to start her own plog i would follow that as well as yours you both are excellent painters
cheers wolf much appreciated, lol i'll try but think it might take some convincing.
tell her she has a fan base already
She said the log would be updated with pics even less then mine does lol, but i'll keep badgering her to paint and post up results when she gets them done
Now that's a compliment if I ever saw one. Now all you need is a stone bridge...Originally Posted by nedsta

The new river trolls models are pretty awesome. Very characterful.
And thanks for the tip on the weathering... after all these years in the hobby, that's one thing I've yet to try (if my memory serves me right...) Now I shall bravely go forth and weather the heck out of a model or two, thanks to you![]()
muchas gracias amigo,i shall look forward to seeing what you produce (no doubt be bloody good as usual lol)
Very impressed with the doomwheel.
cheers mate

Cheers Daniel, gave the tank to my mate last Saturday ans only remembered to take some pics just before I left his house, at least you can see I've actually finished the bloody thing unlike the vast majority of my other figures lol, the camera has changed a lot of the colour at the back of the tank though so not happy with this pics.

My god what is it with me and not updating ny thread much. Well since my last update (a very long time ago) we have had our own little miniature who was born in Feb. As he is now 6 months and getting into a routine I can finally get enough sleep to comprehend painting again.
Had a shadowsword basecoated a couple of months that ended up being rebasecoated last night, camo will be getting sprayed tomorrow.
Also on the table is my little goblin cheerleader who still needs his/her base finishing, the other cheerleader who has a basecoat, a monk by Steve Buddle, a basecoated Bretonian fat guy, a 1/35 king tiger and a few other figures that I won't even bore anyone with mentioning until I actually bother doing anything with.
