Hi all,
For almost 18 months now I've been working on a Dark Angels Battle company with some VERY slow progress that is mainly due to a job which totally eats into my spare time. I would often find myself doing horrible shifts where I would start at 4pm finish at 1am, then start again at 8am to finish at 5pm, this would leave me completely knackered and thus would find myself playing copious amounts of Battlefield Bad Company 2 and such with Silentsmoke as its was a far easier option than painting. This did not however stop me from buying more models and building them from time to time. I began my new job on September 1st which consists of shifts %99.9 of the time in the evening working a nice 37.5hr week compared to the 50+ my last job entailed. So now I have no excuse to not paint...
With the battle company I wanted to concentrate on kit bashing the marines to have a bunch of gear on them, I find it a little frustrating to see marines who go into battle with only the magazine they have loaded for ammunition so
it was important for my guys to have as many pouches and grenades as possible on them. Then naturally I will have lots of support units like dreadnoughts, artillery, tanks and every bodies favourite; Terminators.
The plan is to also include guard units to accompany them to provide lots of armoured support and long range heavy fire power in the form of a Shadowsword Domination Force Apocalypse formation with some additions like, vultures, Valkyries with Storm troopers and some air support in the form of x2 Lightnings. This is mainly inspired from reading the HH books, I like the idea of the "Caliban Jagers" but we have yet to find out if they go bad, so my regiment will be the "Caliban Lions" and will be done in a similar colour schem to the Marines...
So here is what I have completed so far, but I do seem to pick up on bits that need touching up every time I pull the models out of their case:
Mostly completed command unit:
Tactical Squad 1, completed
Tactical Squad 2, completed, but am contemplating repainting their tactical squad markings
