Thats kind of what I was afraid of (the highlighting rather than you starting dark eldar ). Join us! They are irresistable!

Yeah I agree, there needs to be a more gradual transition across all areas of the tank, not just the armour.

I've recently played a couple more games with my Dark Eldar. First was a capture and control mission with Dawn of war deployment against the same Grey Knights I'd played earlier. I managed to get another win, but it was a lot closer this time, if it hadn't ended on turn 5 it would almost certainly have been a draw, if not worse! The second game was Annihilation against a chaos force, with 2 lash of submission totting sorcerers. I had forgotten about the lash in my long break from gaming so this came as a bit of a shock to me, I effectively lost 2 units in my first turn from it! Having said that, one Reaver jetbike, having had the unit lashed into heavy flamer range of his obliterator was charged by it, and then survived 6 rounds of combat against it! He rolled a hilarious number of 1s to wound The jetbike even got a wound in return! Overall I lost the game 9:7 but it was pretty close, and I was leading at one point half way through. I consider it to not be a bad result, considering my complete inability to roll 4+ to hit/wound with my wych squads! (yes Im blaming it on my luck... ).

Anyway, after all that Im thinking I may drop the night shields from my ravager, since they have very little in game effect really. I think I'd prefer to spread some other equipment round. By dropping that I can add haywire grenades to my Archon (he spent 5 rounds of combat with the defiler just taking shadow field saves cos he couldn't damage it. If I have to use him to tie up my opponents killy walkers, I at least want him to try and do damage!) and advanced aether sails to my raiders, giving them potentially a 36" move, I believe. Im sorry that I wont be making use of your advice after asking for it, but I'll definitely bear it in mind in case I do ever put night fields on a vehicle in the future. I certainly intend to be expanding my collection considerably! I just wish there were more apocalypse data sheets available for Dark Eldar....

    Re: HereBeDragons' Paintathon

Well! Its certainly been a while, but I've finally finished the body of the Ravager. Just have the crew left to do which Im hoping to have finished within the next week.

I also played another game last night, Orks, capture and control. Unfortunately we ran out of time before we could finish, so at the end of turn 3 he had two objectives to my one, so we called it a draw with moral victory to him. However I did have 5 kill points to 2, so it depends how you look at it

    Thanks for reading!

No, I haven't succumbed yet. I'm keeping a tight rein on my wallet, otherwise it'd be just more grey and silver minis in the storeroom.

The ravager is ace! The sails really do make it something special.

    Re: HereBeDragons' Paintathon

Now, the plan next was to paint up the jetbikes I have, however there has been a change of plan because I saw this:

    http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/co...?aId=18500074a

Thats right, the Dreadfleet painting competition! This gave me the perfect excuse to get my hands on some ships before Christmas, however this was on the condition that my Girlfriend could paint and enter a ship too. She paints proper paintings really well, but she has never painted a miniature before, so could be an interesting contest lol! I decided to go for the Flaming Scimitar, since I think the Djinn are cool and I wanted a smaller ship to paint, and she went for the Swordfish, since it gives her the excuse to paint some fish . The deadline is midday Saturday, so I got on with cleaning up and undercoating over the weekend. I've decided to use a white undercoat for the first time, so I picked up a can from GW, however it must have been on the shelf for a while cos it was pretty crap, and made a bit of a mess in places . I just hope it wont damage my chances.

I plan on updating daily this week, with both my girlfriends and my progress, so stay tuned! Last night I finished off the DE stuff I was painting so I haven't got anywhere with my ship, but my gf has painted up her base:

Im worried I may have my work cut out. Thanks for reading!

They're both coming along nicely there. Looks like it could all come down to the wire. You're definitely going to have to pull out all the stops I would say

Two apparently awesome painters working on dreadfleet ships. This is a promising thing indeed. Both ships are coming along very nicely.

I think you might be right! I can see a very long friday night of painting to get them finished in time!

    Thanks Tzarinchilla!

Right got an update which I meant to post up last night sorry. Finished the purple areas and am part way through the deck. The sides of the boat should have been the most time consuming part of the whole process with all those cannon holes to paint, so hopefully I can make more progress now... Heres hoping anyway!

By the end of tonight I need to have finished the decks, cannons and the gold. Gonna be a long evening lol! 3 nights to go....
