    The Brief

Simply, its been years since I’ve actually bothered to finish a complete army (my last being an Eldar Craftworld army back in 2003 or something). Since then I’ve flitted from army to army and model to model, rarely finishing anything and never ending up with a finished army i can game with and feel proud of (much to the annoyance of my wife ),

    ... This year that changes!

I'm going to use the awesome Tale of Fantasy painters 2010-11 as a catalyst to get my first fantasy army up and running. Over the next year I’ll be aiming to complete a 2k points army and then roll it out against some opponents. Without further ado, i give you the list!

    Lord

    Prince
    Barded Elven Stead
    Shield
    Great Weapon
    Dragon Armour
    Radiant Gem of Hoeth
    Vembraces of Defence

    Heroes

    Noble
    Great Weapon
    Battle Standard
    Armour of Caledor
    Guardian Phoenix

    Mage
    Level 2
    Annulian Crystal
    Lore of High Magic

    Core

    25 x Spearmen
    Full Command

    25 x Spearmen
    Full Command

    Special

18 x White Lions of Chrace
    Banner of Eternal Flame
    Full Command

5 x Dragon Princes of Caledor

    5 x Ellyrion Reavers
    Bows

    10 x Swordmasters of Hoeth

    Lion Chariot of Chrace

    Rare

    None

Moving forward I’ll be kicking off my first ToFP 2010-11 entry at the end of this month (Sep 2010) and posting regular WIPs are we go.

    Wish me luck

sorry, Im not seeing anything either....wait, there they are! I like the lion banner and the lion shoulders. I would just make the green on the banner pop a bit more. Great idea to keep things seperate while painting, I did too, but not to this extent and I wish I had.

    cheers, Bard

Nice bit of freehand on that banner. How've you done the lions skin? I had a lot of trouble trying to do that with mine, ended up just doing them closer to a real lions skins

From something i posted on the Tale of Fantasy painters thread,

Base coate with 50%/50% - Kommando Khaki and Skull White (or there abouts)

First shadow - 100% Kommando Khaki
Second Shadow - 50%/50% Kommando Khaki and Graveyard Earth
Third Shadow - 100% Graveyard Earth

First Highlight - 25%/75% - Kommando Khaki and Skull White

Hope that helps! PM me if you need more info etc.

    All the best laid plans...

So I’ve played a joker in my first month of the Tale of Fantasy painters, post below,

Will post some thoughts on everyone’s excellent work so far soon, but as for me....

    JOKER!

All the best laid plans bought to ruin by the belated birth of my son, Noah on 05/09.

So this month is catch-up, will finish the Lion Chariot and try and get a Sword master unit done too (crying baby permitting )
Having a new baby in the house certainly throws the balance out the window (til a new one is struck that is ) so obviously the paintings taken a bit of a back seat.

Now things are settling down a bit now, I can get things back on track! Sat in front of me as I type this is my first 'wave' of purchases for the army in various states of built, on sprew etc. All going well a few pics of cleaned, tidied and primed models should appear in this thread in a couple of days...
