They look superb! If I could point at anything a hint of brown in the fur would`ve been even nicer, but they do look great don`t get me wrong

Cheers for the critique REd Skullz. I'll have a look into what I can do.
Just a quick one, I got me some Blood Vestal's this morning! I've written up a review and included some inspirational images and links for those wondering how to paint yours up.
Here is the article:

All the best,
LilLoser
Oh dear lord. LilLoser (the guy who does the best-looking dark elves in internetland) + Raging Heroes Blood Vestals (the long-awaited, excellent alternatives to GW's crappy witch elves) = mind-shattering geekgasm. I cannot wait to see the results.
Woah, that assassin is very impressive. I love how seamlessly you've incorporated those dark eldar bitz without making the model look too futuristic.
I love your stuff. Great conversions and your painting is very subtle and realistic. Did you airbrush the wolves or are they painted entirely by conventional methods?

Every time I find my way back to this log I go a little insane from the stuff you've done since last time. This time was no exception... Way too much good converting and painting to mention it all, but let's just say I'm blown away yet again. What kind of dark gods did you sell your soul to for these skills?
Cheers,

Really gorgeous stuff - that finished unit is so well done.. Where are your wolves from? I'm converting some goblin wolf riders and need nice wolves...
Beastlord: Thank you. The wolves are from the 40K space wolf range. Type fenrisian wolves into google and that should steer you right.
BeatTheBeat: Thank you beat. Don't know which god finally took my soul for skills (hope it was buddha)
Mr.chair: Always a pleaure to hear from you. I do own an airbrush but these beasts were painted the old fashioned way (by rubbing sticks together and chanting to a deity to do the colouring in for me).
Lord Dan: Cheers Lord Dan! The New Dark Eldar range is a treasure trove for me to play with but I'm conscious that any conversion just doesn't end up looking like an Eldar on a square base.

Morathi Queen of the Druchii
++++++++++++++++++++
Out of all the Dark Elf characters Morathi is possibly my favourite. On the battlefield she is a force of nature, unpredictable, wild and exciting. While aspects of the current model are excellent, I felt there were a few things I could improve upon.
For more piccies of the Gorgon Emperess and more analysis have a look here
Hands down the best looking dark pegasus I've ever seen. The purple/blue transition is gorgeous, truly.
Yeah, amazing work all around, I always thought the morathi model was garbage, but by putting her on the old dark Pegasus and converting, you made her look incredible!
"Revenge is a dish best served by Uma Thurman"
@ lord dan; cheers man, I really tried hard to make the transition as smooth as possible.
@ludaman: overall I think a lot of the dark elf range has elements of brilliance to it, but suffers from bad composition & proportion on some the the models. With a few simple alterations and a new Pegasus I think the sculpt looks rather good.
Lilloser
I think these are the best dark elves I've seen. The spearmen block look awesome, your changes to Morathi have really added to the model, and I love the dynamism in that assassin, really excellent. More please!
Hounds of the Black House
Nicknamed the hounds of Ch'ihll, the rangers of the Black House form the mainstay of skilled labour within the vast estates the family owns. Drawn from the survivors of the wars waged between the noble houses of Naggarond, the Druchii who choose to serve as slaves under the yoke of the Gorgon queen are given the responsibility of cultivating the mean land. As a mark of their enslavement, the hounds are castrated and sent out into the trackless depths of the Ch'Ihll estate. This is a haunted place where the more horrific offspirng of the Gorgon queen dwell...

More greasy fluff and nasty pictures here
Cheers all!
Cheers Richy. I adore your dark elf team in your sig. It's so arrogant, pompous and vicious!
Haha- what!
I look at those models and just smile. Beautifully executed, brilliantly painted. My favorite has to be the one leaning forward with the repeater pistol behind him swaying in the wind.
WOW! Awesome!
Oh and congratulations! This idea has now been officially stolen!
Absolutely stunning!
Brilliant conversions and paintjob on you dark elves, the spearmen, the sorceress on Pegasus, everything really...

Brilliant work on the riders, you've managed to get so much character into their faces, it's incredible!
The only criticism I have (and please, take it with less than half of a pinch of salt) is that the wolves themselves could maybe use a bit more definition in the detail of their fur. You've blended the colours amazingly to create a gradient, which is very realistic in tone, but it doesn't quite follow the actual 'fur lines' I think, and then the skin on their legs seems to blend straight into the lightest colours of the fur. I think it's partly due to the sculpts, the back half of the wolves (I'm looking in particular at the last one) don't seem to have much detail with regards to the fur - it almost looks like it was put on as an afterthought!
Having said all of that, you have maintained the extremely high standards which you have already set yourself with these models, and I truly am in awe of your workKeep it up!!
Those new dark elves are beautiful, I especially like Morathi Dark pegasus.
And those Dark riders, I would never have guessed the Hellions would fit that well with the Fenrisian wolfs.
Looking forwards to more updates.![]()
Those wolf-rider / dark-riders are superb, a great idea and masterfully executed.
