    Necromunda Desert Rats

My friends are playing Necromunda Ash Wastes, so I thought I'd make a gang and try out the game too.
I am converting skaven, and am going for a "weary and wary" desert nomad look, a bit Tatooine inspired. Rules-wise I don't know what I'll use them as, the minis are more important to me, especially since I don't know the rules yet, so these will end up as some kind of counts-as gang.

Quite happy with the sculpting and the posing.

Cool stuff! I'd run them either as Scavvies (which fits with their tatty appearance) or Delaque, due to the fact that this will clearly be a shooty gang. However, I might suggest some more variation with the weapons, as otherwise your gang will all be carrying the same gun.

I like 'em. You have done a swell job blending the Kroot and Skaven parts.

    Now, to the paintmobile!

Thank you. These guys will keep their weapons (I just converted them for dog's sake!), but I'll try to get some other stuff for other gang members. I've thought about getting the IOB warlock and warpfire thrower as heavies (or whatever the correct term is).

    Thanks. They've entered the paintmobile.
I'll use my Ratmobile as some kind of transport for the gang, the Tröjan Rat I made a while ago:

There's more pics of it in my fantasy painting diary.

That's incredibly funky! Get your hands on the Ash Wastes rules and you could use it. I was going to suggest either a Warpfire Thrower, Ratling gun or Jezzail armed miniature for a heavy.

    Re: Necromunda Desert Rats

Looks like an interesting project. I've been meaning to play Ash Wastes for some time now but kept getting distracted and never finished my gang...

I'd probably run them as Shanty Dwellers as they are cheap, but cowardly and prone to injury. Just a suggestion of course, you're free to treat them as you wish.

The Trojan Rat looks great. Nice to have some comedy in the game.

I think its pretty obvious that they should be a Rat-skin gang. How is that even in contention?

    Nice work by the way.

I suggested him too, but he said no

However, those are terribly cool models.

Love those conversions! Should make pretty cool Jezzails for WHFB... Can't wait to see them painted up! Ash Wastes Nomads really seems to be the best bet.
    Keep 'em coming!

    Cheers,

Very nice mrtn - characterful and gritty, and not too cartoonish. I may steal some of these ideas for some scavvies.

Any thoughts on which direction you're going to take this gang? Some weapon variations would be interesting...

    Re: Necromunda Desert Rats

Nice work. They have a varied appearance, but the shared scheme helps unify them as a gang. For expansion, you should consider some assassins with Pistols and CCWs to act as pack rats (excuse the pun).

nice stuff man, I've written up some rules for rattmen gangs which I'll PM to you. Your use of Kroot Rifles is inspired, looks very nice.
