Maglok's Tomb Kings and DnD minis

Right so first of all I cannot believe I can't think of something better then 'Tomb Kings plog', but at least it covers what is actually inside.

So I have played Orcs and Goblins years and years ago in 5th or 4th edition. I then quit, but recently (a few months) got back into Warhammer Fantasy. A lot of my friends are also catching on, and we are totally getting into it.

So I have picked Tomb Kings as my new army. So far I got myself:
    • A batallion box
    • A screaming skull catapult
    • 2 Tomb swarms
    • 3 boxes of additional skeletons
    • Tomb king on foot
    • Tomb king with great weapon
    • Khalida
    • A tomb scorpion
    • Licht Priest on foot
    • Mounted lich priest

I am a bit reluctant to get some of the more interesting unit choices, like tomb guards and ushabti, because chances are they will become plastic or at least redone when the 'new' Tomb Kings releases sometime next year.

So I am a bit of a lore buff, so first thought was, what color scheme? The armybook comes with two suggestions, so I picked the one I liked best to begin with.

Main colors: Red Gore, Putrid Green and Shining Gold.

Skeletons are to be sun baked, fresh out of the tomb. So Skull White undercoat -> Devlan mud -> Skull White drybrush.

First of all I wanted to paint some archers and my lich priest (on foot). So I got to work on those, I have to say though that I am not a great painter, but I aim to improve.

EDIT: I got a better camera now. Updating these.

    Meet Naeem, lich priest.

[Will reshoot these pictures. Very bad pictures.]
And Naeems guard, a group of 25 archers with full command. (I painted 3 extra archers to get the option to field just 25 archers without command).

I am also working on skeleton light cavalry in the same color scheme.

My main issue is that the red/green/gold is getting really old, really fast painting wise. So I figure if the red/green is Naeem's colorscheme, then my Tomb Queen, Isis, should have a colorscheme and mabye other characters to.

At the moment I am working up some color tests. The idea is to leave the red to bind the army together, but change the green into purple and mabye the gold into silver. I basically need some ways to diversify the color scheme, without it looking like a tangled mess of colors.

To finish off for now, a shot of a heavy cavalry champion in Naeem's colors.
