    Re: Bastions of attica

    I made a mistake...

Not satisfied with my Eldar WRAITHLORD basecoat red color I wanted to remove the previous coat of paint and...during the stripping...i 've broken the sword !.

So i've spend time to re-build the sword and redone the red basecoat....

The yellow on the IF termy looks great, It has a nice vibrant high, and the lows are not bad, mind sharing the recipe? Is the armour finished? or will there be more layers?

Adding more time to the base.....

I'll try to improve the "rusty" layer over metal (or supposed metal) objects and adding some shadow and highlight to the bricks....

    Yes...it is very easy.

    Primer : Tamiya Grey
1st basecoat : Vallejo GC Golden Yellow
1st shadow : Citadel Scorched Brown
1st light : Vallejo GC Golden Yellow + Vallejo GC Khaki
2nd light : Vallejo GC Golden Yellow + Vallejo GC Khaki + Citadel Skull White
2nd shadow : Citadel Scorched Brown + Citadel Chaos Black

    Re: Bastions of attica

The terrain really blends in well to the scene. I like the fact that the placement of all of the "highlight pieces" take the eye around the whole diorama. From the Marine's Power claws/ eyepiece, to the Imperial fist helmet, over the the shoulder-mounted cannon on that Eldar Walker, over the the Eldar sword, then back to the Space marine. This kind of composition really helps people when it comes to judgement. It forces the viewer to look at the composition as a whole, and doesn't leave the viewer having to tear his gaze away from the whole of the project to see a detail.

All in all, I would give this a 9.5 out of 10, only because it looks a tad static. based on the first picture, it looks like the Eldar walker and the Terminator just bumped into each other on the way to the battle, and stopped for a spot of tea, as they went to college together, and caught up with each other since those crazy parties from the 38th millenium.

It's just me. I think the Eldar walker would have looked better it it looked like it was mid-stride. But the painting definitely covers most of it.
