I can definitely see that working, all the infighting and backstabbing makes a perfect setting for AC - perhaps the assassins being behind the revolution, but the Templars hijacking it and ending up in control of the new regime (I'm pretty sure one of the pictures in one of the puzzles from AC2 showed Napoleon with the apple). I really hope they manage to fit London in as well though, after all it's where quite a few of the French upper classes escaped to, and it's another suitable setting.

I can't remeber what the other symbol was, but at the time of completion i used so google fu, and found out that the only place they came together was the french revolution ,there were other pointers to that time to.

Actually, the only place I can think of that has both the Phrygian Cap and the All-Seeing Eye is French as opposed to American.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:De...man_Rights.jpg

The Cap is at the top of the "tablet" and the eye is above the whole thing.
The declaration of the rights of man. Yep, French Revvie here we come!

However, I wonder what the costume will be like and... gasp....after revelations...

Re: Assassins Creed - setting for No.3?

There are quite a few uses of the word "fraternity" in AC:Rev... maybe that's a hint towards the French revolution ("Liberty, equality, fraternity")... or maybe it's just because it's another word for brotherhood.

Personally I can't wait. The latest game really felt like a stop-gap to me. The Desmond storyline didn't really progress all that much, the Ezio storyline was pretty weak and very short. Was nice to see Altair, but those were pretty tiny missions.

So I'm looking forward to the next step, and hopefully moving things on a bit.

This could be very good if they are prepared to make a jump away from the previous games. Big open spaces and forests instead of cities? Yes please!!

Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about moving away from cities - that was what really sold the previous games to me. But I do see some wicked potential with an interactive wilderness.

Re: Assassins Creed - setting for No.3?

Interesting choice of setting for AC3. I guess it makes sense in that that's where Desmond is, so it sort of provides that link. But even the largest American cities of the time will look a bit lame by comparison to cities like Rome and Constantinople - not much to climb on. Still, I'm sure they've done plenty of thinking, and I can't wait to see how it works out.

Still think Reformation era London would have been an awesome setting. Politics, tall buildings and assassinations all over the place.

Brotherhood, then Revelations. And I'd say it's definitely worth getting Brotherhood. Revelations too, if you want all of the storyline.

Wow indeed. Looks lovely, and I guess the change of scenery should add a new element to the game.

Oh, and you might want to check in on the site next week. Just saying.
Sounds promising... first video footage I assume.

Looks nice. Why haven't they updated the assassin's look though?

Excellent! I love the implication of those screenshots. I'm relieved that they haven't opted for a pure Desmond game - exploring settings as more typical, if brilliant and characterful, assassins with their own stories to be far more interesting than the sci-fi metaplot that's emerged since the end of Assassin's Creed II.

They have. Just as with AC2, they kept the same basic design, but updated it.

Lots of details now leaked, This contains some minor spoilers - you have been warned.

    http://www.computerandvideogames.com...lish-are-evil/

Sounds like Red Dead Redemption meets Assassins Creed. It's good to hear that this is a brand new engine nothing has been carried over from the Assassin's Creed 2 engine which was starting to suffer after Revelations was just another rehash.

    Main Points:

Main character is Half Native American half British, Desmond also features
Main settings are the frontier (1.5 times bigger than Brotherhoods entire play area), New York and Boston
New combat system, new engine can have battles with several thousand participants

Hmm, the new combat system sounds good. I can see a mission where you have to hunt down enemy troops by the dozen Maybe we can climb trees now in response to the open spaces

^ Seeing as there is a screenshot of the Assassin up a tree the ability to climb trees is pretty much a given.

Looks awesome, but i have the same problem i have with all the Assassin's Creed games - That daft outfit. Especially so in revolutionary America.

It's not realistic for Assassins to just look cool with their cloak and knives that fire out of their wrists. An assassin should be able to hide in plain sight, like in Hitman. They've forgone realism for being a 'kool assassin'.
