I've almost taken a sip from the paint glass once. That's why I usually use a very different glass when I have something to drink while painting.

Well the banner is finished. I still have the squad and company number to paint on his shoulder pad and knee before I glue him together and show him to you though. Thanks for all the comments!

Outstanding work. I know how hard it is to get the script just right and you, my dear Swedish friend, nailed it.

Awesome stuff, I'm a little jealous of that banner.

The banner is just disgusting, but in the good way of course. It almost makes the bannerpole look a bit plain? Or is that an effect of the banner beeing magnified 10 times?

That banner is insane. You obviously have far too much time on your hands.

Being magnified does have that effect yes. For instance I didn't see that the "S" was that uneven before I saw the photo. But the banner is the peak of my painting skills, and not the rest of the model. That does show a bit.

Just took pics of the finished sergeant. I've tried to go for a more natural look on the face rather than strong contrasts. I know his pose really doesn't go with the rest of his squad, but I've had this guy lying around for probably five years.

Now that I've decided on the markings I'm working to finish the two other marines. Then it's time to get starting on some more modelling.

Very nice work here, and always a pleasure to take a look at your work : cool conversions, very good paintjob, with an original color scheme.
The only thing is that the base look too simple for my taste...

Keep your fingers crossed that the world doesn't end 2012 and you might see a finished army some day.

Nice to see you found my thread Jörgen.

Tancrede: I'm well aware of the plainess of the bases. So far it's a layer of GS and sand with footprints in it. I hope to get a better idea what to do with them soon.

Well all it comes down to is very thinned paint and one hell of a patience. Doesn't really take that much skill compared to blending and other techniques as long as you've figured out what to paint beforehand.

Took a look at the Ultramarines movie artwork: in scale it's much closer to your models than the 'artscale' Marines. Pretty cool. (:

I like your technique for making the marines truescale, thanks for the tutorial. Your painting is incredible too. Keep up the great work!

Re: My DIY Chapter; a thread on "Classic" true-scaling

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. I've been away at my parent's over christmas and then had a lot of work at school. We're beginning a new course in a week though so I hope to get some more stuff done. Got a little teaser for you til then though. I've tried to copy one of my favourite poses from the new Legion of the Damned models. I think it fits the slow advancing pose of the rest of the squad as well. I'm probably going to do a running pose for the next squad and a standing pose for the devastators and so on to get some themes throughout the army.

Modular: I'll probably show the steps when I do a new terminator some time in the future. But just try to apply the leg part and heightening of the torso from the power armour guide and you'll get it right. Only note where I've applied the plastic card on the legs.

Re: My DIY Chapter; a thread on "Classic" true-scaling

Well, a month and a half later and I'm back. Sorry again for the slow updates. As you might have noticed this is a pretty slow process but I hope it will speed up at least a notch after this.

    I finished this guy today.

The base isn't finished yet as I've decided to come up with a better and more natural theme for the bases. I thought I'd do this while I still have only 3 to change. I had a chat with a friend about this. He thought maybe the green in a forest base could complement the beige armour. Or that a better desert base would do the trick. If you guys have any good tips I'd love to hear and see them.

Also have a teaser for my next marine.

He's supposed to signal to his squad members that the coast is clear and wave them forward (his hand should be turned 180 degrees). The plan is to get hold of this hand. But last time it got back in stock it ran out before I saw the notification email. >.<
