Thread: 323rd Cadia : Armoured Company 'The Iron Hawks'

Re: 323rd Cadia : Armoured Company 'The Iron Hawks'

Yesterday I visited a playing-group near my location and had a very nice game against an Ork Army. I don't want to keep back the pictures, which were made.

Before starting the game the obligatory sorting of the troops.

My deployment from the left corner to the right:

First turn, a scouting Killakopta, bad move for my chimera, fortunately it was only shaken:

    and the green-floot:

At the end of the game all my tanks were immobilized, I had lost my Psyker, one chimera, an infantry platoon and guardsman Marbo. My last platoon saved the mission marker in my deployment- zone. On the other side I could destroy everything except the bossmob, which saved one mission maker. So all in all a draw.

A very great evening with lots of fun. Tonight i want to paint three Heavy weapon squats and maybe a Griffon.

So lots of work to do.

It is a long time ago since my last post, but a new campaign is at the horizon. The campaign is under the character of the summer of flyers. We are using the new hangar rules of the Imperial Armour Badab War, additionaly we are planning rules for small battles with flyers.

So lot of work to do, more brave men, more tanks and more important more flyers!

The best method to destroy enemy's flyers is a squadron of Hydras so here we go.....

I hope you like it and there will be more in the future

Those are some of the best hydra conversion I've seen, brilliant work! The extended barrels on the ageis auto cannons looks amazing!

Very well done. Cool how you did the crew seats.

Thanks to all for your posts.

@ Minigiant: I have cut the hull of the chimera in the middle and put it on two plastic cards. The gun is connected through the Imperial Aegis platform.

Here are some pics of the work I have done yesterday and a small teaser of what will come at the evening:

First of all my new command squat with my version of commander Straken, two bodyguards, two flamers, a doc and the banner.

Close-ups of `Straken` and the doc:

and more guardsmen with various weapons and equipment:

    Hello warseer,

it was a very productive day and the "summer of flyers" gets closer to me and my playing group.

We thought about some background and here is my first part, it is short but I hope you like it.

Another day draws to a close. The thin air wandered through his skin. Sergeant Pean and his crewmember had a hard tour. They were lazy. A buzzing noise gets him up from the engine of the speeder, which had done its work since he was member of the 5. Border Patrol District 11.

Not only smugglers and criminals were on their way but also mysterious assaults happened in the last few weeks at the borders of the Hive Citys and the deep forests, which were characteristic for this area of Mondeo.

The pictures of scorched earth, ruined houses and retarded, hopeless workers replicated in his thoughts. Which gang could provide such a terror? Or was it more then only a gang…..

and now let the models speak:

    sergeant Pean and his squat:

and buisness as casual..... close ups:

Another speeder based on the scout`s one is on the way....

    Tell me what you think....

Some blooming amazing work here and some nice conversion work on the nids too. Keep it up!

At this point it would be great to show you pictures of the campagne but the gods of dices decided to avoid it. Lack of time and the real life eat all of our dreams and visions.... I hope we can play the campagne at Christmas.

But I can show you what I had done the last month. I have finished the two Hydras and one of the speeders. In addition I have some WIP shots and lots of motivation to complete those

The pics are made with my mobile phone, so all in all not very good.

I'm not sure if I should remove the fence at the front of the first hydra. Any suggestions?

I will add some imperial emblems on the side. I think it seems to be a little bit empty.

So all in all the two speeders and then the bases. It could be done in a week.....

    C & C are always welcome

    greetings

Those Hydras are brilliant. Nicely done.
Not so sure about the landspeeder conversions but they do the job. Looking forward to seeing the guard squads painted up

I love the army, looks great! Really nice battle scenes. I love the IG battling it out against the Nids.
I would like to ask, if you don't mind, what colors do you use on your Cadians? I really like the neutral, realistic look you are achieving.

    The armour:

    firstly primed with Scorched Brown
