Your skin could use a little work since it looks like it's the same color as the fatigues.

The skin wouldn't blend with the clothing as bad if there were more definition to the face.... how are you at painting eyes?

Also, line the areas where the skin meets the armor/clothing with devlan mud to further enhance the difference.

    Deathmethod,

I think the color scheme you have chosen works well. It seems you are painting these with just washes and metals over white primer. Nothing wrong with that, it's quick, effective and easy. I think you do need to up your differentiation of things on the models though. The boots could do with an additional wash of devlan mud for example. I would skip the camo pattern on the clothing for now as they look pretty great without it and you can always go back in later to do it if you really want to. Alternatively you could use the camo pattern to differentiate from Vets and regular Platoon guys depending on your list. I might also go in and throw some edge highlighting on the armor plates with skull white.

Following all that, basing is an important step to giving your models a completed look. I think yours you could do it with just bare gw sand. Paint the entire base and the rim scorched brown and glue sand on top. Boom, instant desert.

I look forward to following your progress on the army.

The lasgun and armour looks a bit plain, try a couple washes of gyphone sepia. test it on plasticard or paper before you do it on the model though! or a test model.

otherwise i really like the desert camo. keep em coming!
