Was definitely worth the time spent. They look finished now whereas before they seemed to be lacking that little something.
Awesome work.

Awesome work.
Your painting is so consistently clean, and you seem to be able to work at a
fair pace too. Everything looks fantastic, the orange gems work very nicely too.
Here is my latest work for my High Elves.
I'm going to take a break from my High Elves for a few days due to work...and also this:
And this:
And these:
Oh, and these as well

That's the first shot of an assembled, unpainted Abomination I've seen. It looks really smooth. How well did it assemble?
R.
Very well indeed. Everything fit together very easily. Quite enjoyed it actually and there was no swearing involved, which was a first![]()
Loving alot fo the work in this thread mate. I would agree with the above posters that the choice to go with Amber has really made the Elves pop.
My only Constructive critisim is that I feel the bases lack something. I think the green edging doesnt really do justice to the rest of the colour scheme. Have you thought about a light brown perhaps? With patches of green on top? Just my 2c.
But otherwise your all round painting is pretty goddamn great.

I like to just go for black sides to bases. It seems to draw attention to the model better. Having said that, I've only just found the wonder of proper basing materials, so I should probably keep shtum
Those High Elves are delightful - especially well complemented with the amber amulets. What colours did you use in the highlights to achieve that turquoise effect?
"Indeed, who are you to question young Asur? For does the Walker choose the Path, or the Path the Walker?" - Eldroth Caledorinath
Still on a break from the High Elves. I'm going to have a little fun before I get back to them, by painting some older models I've dug out from my bits box.
Firstly a pair of Dwarfs which will probably find their way into my army when I actually start it.
Next up is a pair of Dwarf wizards which, for obvious reasons, won't be appearing in my army
Next is some vampires from ye olde times with a zombie dwarf thrown in (actually dwarf war machine crew, but the pose is just too good!)
A Nurgling.

A bit of fun.

I painted this minotaur black as it's the unit champion. I'm now seriuosly considering painting my entire army this way. Behold the Nightbreed!
I've not decided how I'll do the bases yet.
Some WIP Treekin and some more High Elves for the Tale of Fantasy Painters as I really need to get my **** in gear on these! And my Stegadon, also for the tale.

That minotaur looks fantastic!
If you do a whole army like that, see if you can grab a couple of old issues of White Dwarf - Paul Sawyer's army in the original Tale of Four Gamers was black Beastmen, and it looked pretty snazzy. Not to mention the white Bestigors!
Woah, the Nightbreed looks exceptional!
You've done a great job on the black skin and the metal details look great too. The mini really stands out and the black skin makes it look extra tough. Not a bad idea to use the scheme for all of them, but it also makes that one stand out that much more if you don't.

Wow, thanks guys! I'm really flattered
I've decided to paint the beastmen black with red details like banners and cloth.
@mrtn: I'm not too keen on the Goblin Green bases either. Old habits die hard I guess![]()
