    Logans commission logs

Well rather start a log every time I have a commission I decided I would just have one log.

Here is the start of my Eldar commission, hopefully tomorrow i will have white on the rest of the unit finished assuming don get any more phone calls tonight!

After this this I will have a Banshee exacrh, 2 warlocks and a Autarch to paint (until the next batch arrives anyways). The white is painted with:

    1) base coat astronomican grey
    2) watered down shadow grey
    3) dry brush Astronomican grey
    4) water down layers of skull white

Stage for does take abit of time per model but I think it looks pretty effective.

Well here is another update on the Banshee, so far my client seems very happy with the result and hopefully he will be equally as happy with the banshee, today another commission arrived. some wardancers! I guess I will have to get those done over the weekend or something.

Well its pretty much finished now, trying to figure out if its needs something else doing to it and also I am thinking of redoing the gems to be a brighter color, maybe Mordian blue/Enchanted blue/50/50 enchanted blue+ skull white.

    Re: Logans commission logs

Well I have been asked to paint it more white, the bottom picture is of one he sent me, while I have lightened mine a lot I haven't gone right to white. Should I highlight it up close to white (I'm on bleach bone now). I fear that if I do it really make the highlights look rubbish

if you blend it up to about half way between white and bleached bone that might look better than going to white

How about being better than now? My client said he is happy to trust my judgment and I feel if I go much light then the brown parts might be to dark.

you might want to go just a shade lighter on the highlight so it doesn't over cast the shadow

    Re: Logans commission logs

Well here is a update on the Eldar Commission I am doing,

    Guardians

Now that I have done the White on the unit the the longest part is out of the way, I am hoping to get the unit finished tomorrow.

    Warlocks

I decided to take a break from painting the guardians, with the best will in the world painting the same model over and over again can get a bit much, I just need to find some decent pictures of Eldar runes to paint on the robes just to make them look a bit more interesting, hopefully I can find my old 2nd ed Eldar Codex if not I'm sure I can find something on Google!

    Banshee Exarch

Pretty much finished now, just really the eyes, hair and space marine helmet to finish.

From this batch I just have a Farseer and Autarch to paint, hopefully the next lot will arrived at the end of the week which should give me time to paint some wardancers and actually paint some of my own models!

If you don't like them you could try being a tad constructive rather than just slapping a 1 star on

rated 5 stars to balance the troll.

But I think I would rate this five stars anyway. Logan, this is your finest work to date.

Cheers Liloser! I really appreciate the support! I shall check out my PM straight away, I have to say I am not 100% happy with the guardians but isn't the easiest of colors to get right, main thing is the client is happy and wants me to paint him even more models!

Happy clients are where it is at.. even if the rest of the world of trolls do not like them they do appeal to someone.. personally I like the white guardians.. but I think your warlocks look better and have more definition than the guardians.. just hope that you don't get too many requests for yellow armies.. ugh.. I hate painting up yellow now after doing up a Tau force :S

    Re: Logans commission logs

Cheers, I have to agree I am happier with how the warlocks turned out,i still have more on the guardians to do and I just got a load more to paint today so hopefully i can improve how I did the white on these guys with more practice. I think yellow is a color I would hate to paint more than white!
