Guys, this is the 5th Edition tactics thread. Can we worry about 6th when it actually comes out? And leave the ******** in the rumors section.

Right now i'm gluing together my Razorwing Jetfighter, and need to choose between Dark Lances & Disintegration Cannons, and whether to upgrade it with a Splinter Cannon.
I know, i should really magnetize it but i don't have the tools or the patience.
I'd go with Dissies and the Splinter Cannon, personally. All the missiles are best used vs infantry. I feel that each unit should have a specified battlefield role. Razorwings just seem to fit the anti infantry bill.
Magnetize. It doesn't require that much time, and the tools are pretty basic :-)
ATM, no. I'll just use less glue and give it a shot before i assemble it completely. Makes sence as i might want to change weapons when 6th comes. If only GW made it easier...
Does anyone know a good guide on how to use Razorwing?
if you want to discuss the 6e stuff, go to the 6e thread. My intention is just to give you a heads up, this thread is for further 5e discussions such as how many more blasters we can fit in an X point army and how sweet the super sweet scourge models are
what are you using to make up for the lack of a triple darklance ravager, or does your metagame not have everyone sitting in metal boxes?I'd go with Dissies and the Splinter Cannon, personally. So, has anyone entered tournaments with their optimized lists? How did you fare against various armies?
Has DE made a showing in any big tournaments yet? The only one I know of is dash of pepper's venomspam blasterwarriors doing well.

I haven't purchased my Razorwing yet but I would assume at whatever points you feel you need glue to mount the weapon, there is where you want a small rare earth magnet.
I just want to stress rare earth magnets in case your not familiar with magnetizing. Also there are many many blogs, posts, and videos on how to magnetize and the various techniques.

2 void lances is closely comparable to 3 dark lances. Obviously this leaves the ravager as much more points efficient, and less vulnerable to each weapon destroyed result. Still, the Voidraven has advantages of its own, and if points isn't a concern, its a way to get a bit more out of a heavy support slot without sacrificing as much anti-tank as other selections would.
Against AV 12 and up you have 3 shots at BS4 that glance on 4 and pen on 5+ with Ravager and two shots at BS4 that glance on 3 and pen of 4+ with Raven. Counting just penetrating hits you get a mean of 2/3 pens with Ravager and 2/3 pens with Raven. If you do that maths less lazily you'll end up with the Void Raven very slightly more likely to get destroyed results (both round up to 21%) and the Ravager slightly more likely to get a damage result of some sort (69% vs 70%) but they are really very closely matched. Against AV11 and 10 the odds tilt significantly in the Ravager's favor.
And here i was, thinking it's for discussing strategy & tactics, not to adore the new models (although the Jetfighter is rather sexy). I mentioned 6th as a good reason to use magnets, nothing else.
I was going to use 2x6 Reavers with Heat Lances & 2 Trueborn squads w blasters. Problem is, my group is lacking in the terrain department, so HL-Reavers might be nothing but suicide.
I might soon be doing that myself, got any tips?
So far i've only magnetized a BA Librarian & a Rhino. Used a hobby Knife and some green stuff, was far from quick & easy.

Quick question, currently I have 9 reavers. In order to destroy AV10-12 armors should I load them with 2 heat lances or blasters?
