I've nearly finished the Earthshaker now!

Just wondering about a base for it, it doesn't come with one.

How do people feel about that? Do you base your artillery?

If you are just starting Empire try getting the battallion box from Wayland or Maelstorm as it saves you A TON of money and you will need almost everything it has.

Had a lot more success after finding the macro mode, thanks to Colonel_kex for that tip!

So, the first of hopefully many pics to come over the coming months. This pic features one of the prototype Cult of Slaanesh Cold Ones.

I'm trying to go for a colour scheme that's both a tad opulent and a little barbaric. For the opulence part, I am trying a mix of pink, gold and lacquered white. As for the barbaric side of things, blood-red warpaint and black/bone spines help lend a sinister twist. The model is about 90% complete. I need to tidy it up and do the eyes. I'm thinking of going with yellow eyes as I find yellow eyes really striking.

For the blood, I simply used liberal amounts of red ink on a white undercoat followed by an 'ardcoat finish. Everything else is just painted clean on because, well, anything else would probably be too difficult for me!
Now all that's left to do is to hope that the upload works...
EDIT: Success! Ok, that seems to have worked. Hopefully the pictures will improve as time goes by and I'll also try to upload a larger picture next time.

I'm glad you like it because I've got 9 more of the bloody things to get through!

If you need to resize a picture then creating a Photobucket account can help. They offer a free re-sizing service which is the easiest thing that I can recommend.

As for the riders? Who knows, I haven't even settled on a colour scheme for the riders yet... I'm sorely tempted by blood-spattered gold plating but that might be a little too ostentatious...

Can't wait to see the Warlord tomorrow, it might give me some inspiration (aka: techniques that I can pilfer!) for my own characters.

I'm getting that after Xmas on Maelstrom. Cheers for the tip though.

Update: I've done my test model and I'm happy with it, so I'll do some more through the week. I'll be doing a Middenland army.

Well, I've only got one model painted for the mo, but as I've come up with a quick way of painting my models, it'll take me about 15-30 minutes per model, with the standard bearer maybe taking longer (free-hand takes time).

The Griffon is coming along nicely but I do have to ask, is the beak finished? It doesn't look quite right to me as is but I can't put my finger on why...

Indeed it is not, both is and the claws require some skull white highlights to be done, in addition to a re paint of the armour, finishing the helm, the griffons tale need more coats of yellow and black spots and finally a nice coat of black shading for the griffons body.

So lots to do!
