Haha, found the blasted thing and uploaded the photos, unfortunately, they are much too blurry to polute the thread with. Anyone have any tips for taking good quality photos? Light, background, distance, etc...I have virtually no experience with cameras.
On the bright side, this is giving me plenty of time to paint those Cold Ones...

Always up for a game!
I thought I was taking the easy way out only painting 11 models, especially compared to the people who chose Skaven!
White really isn't easy...
Onto my 5th stage so far and it still looks blotchy in areas - though is getting there slowly, this is for normal rank and file though!
Hopefully be able to get a pic or two up tomorrow, at least of a WiP, hopefully of at least one finished model.

I have decided!
I'll be doing an Earthshaker this month and 30 goblins with command!
This takes me a little over but hopefully ok!
I just remembered how much I hate basing!
Hey guys; I just wanted to let everyone know I mayyy be changing my project plan to a different army (either Bretonnia, Orcs and Goblins, Ogres, or remaining with Beasts) I'm looking at the feasibility of building a beast army from scratch versus the other 3, which I currently own in varying degrees and which all also need to be painted. In all likelihood I will be doing a Beast army somewhere down the road if not now, but I may have to delay it and take up one of my other 3 armies-in-waiting instead.
I hope this doesn't cause any problems, and I'll at least have my choice in by the 8th, which should give me enough time to paint the first 300 points of that force.

Draconian, if your camera has a macro setting use that along with some sort of portable lamp, try different angles with the lighting until you find something that works, looking forwards to see the pics!
grimmeth, try using a layer of foundation grey (forgot the name) and then some thin layers of white, i assume you're painting on a black undercoat so that might help abit.
i've started the bases of the slave unit, 50 bases and movement tray (all have a coherent theme), but i dó have to figure something out for the warplightning cannon.
if you stare long enough into the abyss, the abyss will stare back at you.
or just take a look at my blog while you're at it!

That's what I've gone for, it looks good on the robes, but the large flat areas (like the shield) I struggled. Think I've got it now though, just a few more details and my first 5 Sea Guard will be battle ready!
It's all just about patience and lots of thin layers - frustrating, but rewarding when it covers evenly.
Might even consider a White Scars army at some point!![]()

Ok if I did this right you should see the first pics of my General of the Empire on griffon, he is still in the early stages, with a little luck i will have some time to work on him more latter today.
I also included a pic of my 99% done captain, i very happy on how this guy turned out, i cant for the life of my figure out why he wont come up as a pic instead of a link tho.

Great basing i cant really tell about the models in this light, try having a secondary light source in the backround to light them up.
@Nagash66 Like the captain mate, lovely model too. You're really shifting with the painting, nice use of the griffon!
@colonelKex sorry I can't make out the models too well, basing does look ace though!
Oh Lordy I hate basing!
I've a question! Do we have to stick to an army book or can we do any warhammer stuff as long as we hit the points?
Thanks

i hate basing too but all my frineds were so annayed with my black bases that i thought i'd give it a shot.
It's just PVA and some basic sand and grass flock, real easy!
I just got my first skaven game with my painted clanrats, pointwise loss but moral victory!
Will try to take new pictures during lunch unless i get my dark eldar codex..
Ok slow day today so did some more work on the General, i am gonna swap heads as i dont feel the one i had on was militant enought.
Next up i need to find a new head and keep working on the wings. Also the sleeves i painted yellow for reasons i will never be sure of so they need to be done red and green as those are Hocklands colours.
Not sure how i am gonna handle the chest piece any ideas?
Maybe make it gold or piant it in mithril silver?
i painted the arms and legs of my skavens all pink.. then i realised that they have fur on everything but there hands... my brain is not my friend
Maybe gloss black? Can look good.
I know, much better than the old lizard-cows...
I'll be busy all day Saturday but hopefully I'll have a decent photo or two up on Sunday. I'm actually sort of flip-flopping on my months allowance though, the Cold Ones are nice but I have a Cauldron of Blood conversion that I want to get stuck into...![]()
