Thread: Dwarfs of Karak Kadrin

    Post Dwarfs of Karak Kadrin

Well this is my first thread that belongs to myself. I'm posting this here to help keep me focused on my army and to hopefully get feedback on my ideas and what i should do with it. Last year i bought a battle for skull pass box set then traded my goblins for another set (minus a cannon) to start my dwarf army. Then i was gifted with a third set. I hope to keep you updated on my progress.

My first question for the warseer community is for a lord on shield bearers. My idea is to take the grudge pony cart and build some sort of throne out of it and count it as shield bearers for a lord (thane from BFSP), any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

    http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/sh...804&pid=129968 this is my inspiration

I may have a few suggestions, but I have a question first. Are you willing to spend money on it, or would you rather avoid spending more?

Either way, I think the best place to start would be a 40mm base.

No wonder that you thought 2nd ed 40K sucked. You weren't even playing it.

I do agree a 40mm base would work much better. I would rather not spend allot of money because i dont have allot of money being a college student and all the cheaper the better, thats one of the reasons i dont wont the GW model

My first thought was too cut out the squarish center piece on the cart and flip it upside down. That would provide a nice raised platform to mount a throne on. Then maybe make a chair with plasticard or other spare bits.

The dragon heads that you removed from the cart as decoration sprouting from either side of the throne, or maybe a spare Dwarf banner pole on the back of the throne. And then just plop one of the Battle for Skull Pass Thanes on top for your Lord.

    That's one idea anyways.

It shouldn't be too difficult to pull off. Make sure you've got a sharp knife and make clean cuts and you'll be fine.

Do you have any Dwarf stuff besides the Skull Pass sets? If you want some decorative bitz from the plastic kits I can send you some, no charge.

Now that I thought of it, I may use it for a Thane with an Oathstone.

You should try putting a wash of some color on those dwarfs. Would really make them pop a bit more.

Hey LOVE the dwarf lord on pony wagon idea.

May i advise going back on the dwarfs done already and just touching up on places where the paint has overlapped.

    Otherwise keep on going!

    Re: Dwarfs of Karak Kadrin

Okay so the idea of keeping me on task has failed. However over the past year my collection has grown a little and over the next couple of months I will had to and finish my dwarf army. (by finish i mean paint.) Latter tonight or tommorow I will post pictures of my army as it stands and the projects that I am working on while I wait to get paid and start buying new stuff. First however is new paint.
