Not especially. I've kind of trained myself to be too hypercritical (like Simon Cowell with OCD), and I regret shooting my mouth off. Apologies!

I'm sure I've seen you about on troll forged before (or am I getting confused?)
Yup! Not often, but sometimes. I sculpted the halfling they recently released.

Ah yes I remember that one (sitting down halfling right?) great piece of sculpture!

    @nedsta Thanks mate!

Interesting. I hadn't seen that you were working on a Banshee sculpt. Good to see a close-up of of the Croak mask, too.

I admired the Monique deNoir resculpt on deviantArt, of course. I do like that you adhere more to realistic physical proportions than Werner - having her longer in the body and smaller in the head as you do diminishes the impact of her waist/hip ratio, but is much more in-line with "true" scale sculpting, such as seen from Dark Sword and others. That said, some of the fine detail still lacks the crispness of your best work. We know you can do it, because we saw it in the AoW Lizardman.

I'm curious that you have branched out to some alternative sculpting media, such as brownstuff or ProCreate for sculpting the fine details and sharp edges that tend to be a challenge in pure greenstuff.

Ironically I didn't do much with the vamp, she was sculpted before the Saurus, I simply moved the arm and the shoulder guard as an update.

I'm dead glad about the saurus project as I literally had Felix tell me the initialy model was far too light in details to hold up in metal casting and to resculpt the whole thing, that's when I started going heavier and sharper with the details (like the sister of battle)

I'm hoping this will show in the Banshee, though probably not so much on Kroak as some of the detail Mark put into the artwork is incredibly fine.

I used pro-create before but to be honest with you I couldn't get into it.

I meant the artwork, not my sculpt.

    Anywho....

Been slack I know, but I do have an update, I've finished the skull that's going in the Pariah's hand and I have finally finished the sister of battle.

On the whole I'm fairly happy with her, jump pack is a little rough around the edges but it can easily be removed and have an existing one switched in it's place.

    EDIT:

forgot to add I deliberatly sculpted her in the same scale with the current Seraphim minis.

I think we do not understand and yet say the same thing. We agree that the illustration is awesome. Na, forgot it.

I expect more pics of the finished pariah

Nothing really new to ad, work is busy, busy, busy at the moment.

Finished the Pariah test piece I started ages ago, nothing massively special the arm holding the skull looks out of place.

Thanks for the help and shouts of encouragement.

I'm currently working on the next Troll forged ganger, the only problem is I've got too much artwork.

I don't really know how to equipe her, should she be close combat or have a heavy weapon?

What sort of heavy weapon or close combat weapon?

If you want to have your say in what I give her, speak now.... (there's also a poll on troll forged, link below).

Sorry I've been so slack, there's a vast amount going on at the moment but things should have smoothed out a bit.

As soon as I have something to show you I'll put it up.

Should be the ganger first and then the Banshee.

    I'm interested in the banshee!
Is it an undead or an Eldar banshee?

It will be an Eldar Banshee, I really want to try and push my skills on this one as much as possible.

    @Kronos

What I did was use a little more yellow than usual in the green stuff mix and roll it out as thin as possible. After that I then traced it around the edges of the frills on the mask.

No new major updates yet (completed Catachan green to come very shortly).

I'm also going to try my hand at sculpting Miriael Sabathiel, she's supposed to be the only sister of battle who willingly gave herself to Chaos (no surprises that it would be Slaanesh).

I'll follow the basic design below but sculpt her with her mouth closed and without the tongue, I don't think it would translate well to the green.

I think that new mini will interest my girlfriend, years ago, she and a friend of her made a Codex called Daugther of the Snare, based in an SoB order that betrayed the Imperium.

Re: The brand new sculpt log

Sorry for the quietness and thank you for your patience.

    I have some news...

I recently applied for a job with GW I had two pieces to do but unfortunately failed rather badly.

This was the last piece I submitted but unfortunately made a rather large number of errors with proportions.

So what I will be doing now is stop concentrating on a GW job, assuming I get to that standard it will involve more stress and less work for other companies than I'm prepared to put in now.

The plan of attack at the moment (yes there is a plan I fully intend on sticking to for once).

More gangers for troll forged (first priority)
3 minis for another comic company (can't disclose who or what minis at the moment).

You will see other pieces such as Miriael Sabathiel and the new Banshee exarch but these will not be pieces orienated or aimed at GW work, they will purely be pieces I can use in my own army and so no casting will take place.

No idea when the next update will be, I am trying to post fewer WIPS as they don't always help the viewer. I'm hoping for something inside of a week.

    Thanks again,

    Rich

Re: The brand new sculpt log

Here's a smallish update, I've been juggling multiple things at the moment but things are slowly moving.

The Banshee has ground to a halt at the moment as I don't know what to do with her arms positioning or what weapons to give her (executioner, mirror swords or single sword and pistol or even a trisickle).

She's shaping up better than my first Banshee, the head is smaller but more in scale, the armour sharper and soul stones finer. The hair I have toned down a bit as I went nuts last time. I've also been following Jes' helmet less Banshee sculpt more closely with this one, in addition, the two wire pieces sticking out of her head are going to be shaped at the end of the sculpt into two individual hair braids, giving the model hopefully a bit more movement.

Torso may look a bit bare at the moment but there's still lots of little details to be added here and there.

The current Banshee GW mini is for scale purposes only.
