Wow, that's big. What will you be sculpting with, if not green stuff?

are you going to try sculpting in Fimo? I've heard a lot of good stuff about using it over green stuff

The current sculpts are looking good, and I will likely pick the Lizardman hero up in the future for a Kroxigor unit.

I hope you'll be happy with sculpting for fun, but on the other hand I also hope you will eventually return to sculpting for companies, with more professionalism than ever. Your sculpts are simply too good for not at least some of them to be used by the industry. Or, put another way, they are too good for you to deny us the chance to buy some casts.

I'm determined to use Super sculpey firm, there's a long and complicated process for preparing it but the end result when you come to sculpt is most certainly worth it.

Gamesday was good, but there's a few things about the Kroxi for AOW I'd like to change, though it would take ages to do.

I've got ideas of what I want to sculpt next but am not trying to think too far ahead, just one or two minis at a time. Other than that, nothing else planned at all, there's really not a lot of money in sculpting for companies (at least not for me and not until I really advance my skill levels). So I don't think I'll go back to doing any for any company work (unless I got offered a full time sculptors job on a decent salary and with a secure future).

I just want to have fun from now on like I did when I first did conversions and sculpts for my own army.

    Small update.

I have the base of the hair done, just need to finish the neck, hair, hands and chains and then I can move on to the sculpey and new fun projects.

    Cheers mate!

Took me ages to find a chain small enough but I finally got one in the end.

The reason there appears to be a line down her right side of the face is it's an eye lash from me, I removed it afterwards and the final photo for this piece will show it.
Overall a few errors here and there, but not massively fussed to be honest, just eager to put green stuff behind me and move on to sculpey.
I just have details on the chain end that's hanging down but it will be nothing massive or major.

This log will likely go quiet for a long time too, I'm assuming sculpey will take a very long time to get into so am allowing for any major mistakes and disasters.

Nice work Rikard, she's looking good so far. Her head and armour look nice, the only thing that is not really doing it for me is her stance. When I look at the concept art and this sculpt it seems like she's lost some of her gait. Her hips and shoulders just seem a bit too stiff and upright to me. Hopefully that's not too nasty to say when you're so near the finish line :/

I'll be looking forward to your sculpey stuff, I'm sure it won't take you too long to pick up at all. Have you had any thoughts on what you'll be working on first?

Yeah, I should have stuck just with the concept artwork, once you try mixing different pieces of artwork together, that's when you get into trouble.

Not a big one though to be honest, this mini is probably just going to sit in one of my desk draws along with all the other greens I sculpted for fun or tests. Cutting away your work and redoing a big mistake is a huge drain on your enthusiasm, one of the big advantages with sculpey is if you have muscles (for example) which are off then it's easy, even weeks down the line, to just push and pull the existing muscle to make them accurate.

Got the Avatars of war Lizardman back in the mail, Felix picked up on a large error that Jes did too, the position of the muscles in the lower arm on the weapon carrying arm need re-doing, so I'll get that resculpted and then sent back off again.
