Introduction: The concept behind this RPG is quite simply player based RPG. There will be three Imperial Factions contending over a Space Hulk for various reasons. Some objectives will be made apparent while other reasons will remain hidden until the leader of the faction reveals it. The players will have the option of choosing a character from any of three factions and will be able to create up to three characters. It is also possible for each character created by a player to be from a different faction and will lead to your own amusement.
Each faction has a purpose driving it personally to investigate and board the Space Hulk and even though all three factions are technically under an alliance, it is an accepted belief that each faction will inevitably turn on each other. The Space Hulk itself will contain various environmental threats, undiscovered treasures, mysteries 'best unsolved' and of course it will have its own denizens. The Hulk itself is a threat to the Imperium and is on a direct course with an Imperial planet.
The concept works with the players guiding their characters through the Space Hulk and having a choice of following orders, disobeying orders and working on their own accord if they chose to be. The RPG is free hand and allows for a free style playing where players are in control of the adventure and the decisions their characters make. At the very heart of this RPG, is the fact your character and your character's faction will have objectives to meet and to ultimately survive the Space Hulk. There will be tricks and turns, side-plots, shades of grey characters and the fun of having three Imperial Factions trying to work together.

The Space Hulk:
Name: Thorn of Razue
Official Designation: X01012GATR-022
Original Discovery Date: 503.M41
The Thorn of Razue was discovered by Explorator Arch Magos Yoi Razue by accident while the Magos and his team were exploring the outer fringes of the Gorram sub-sector. Upon discovery, the Magos ordered an explorer boarding party and ordered that the Wayward Coil's cogitators scanned and logged in every known detail of the Space Hulk. What happened after the boarding party made dock with the Space Hulk is unknown and even the fate of the Wayward's Coil is still not completely understood.
The Space Hulk had vanished before the Explorator cruiser was found by a team of Adeptus Mechanicus and only the kept datacoils was enough to suggest what had happened to Magos Razue and his crew. The whole ship had become a ghost town and it was clear something had driven the whole crew mad with the evidence of violence burnt into the walls and the bodies of the dead. The events were no longer investigated and the Wayward Coil was scuttled with its entire datacores scrubbed clean. It was during this scrub, the data of the Thorn of Razue was logged into Imperial databases.
In the year 543.M41, the Thorn of Razue was tracked entering Imperial space and immediately upon detection, another Adeptus Mechanicus Explorator and surveyor team was dispatched. This time the Tech Priests had brought military arms to board the hulk and tears its secrets out with brute force. The fate of Razue's crew was expressed to the Tech Priests in charge and it was with a cold mechanical determination they sought out to investigate the Hulk.
Only one vessel made it to the Hulk and soon after it had, the hulk vanished back into the warp. The reports indicated the Cold Logic only made visual confirmation and no boarding parties made it to the Hulk. However, a minor report did slip through about the Cold Logic in need of minor repairs and loss of crew due to hazardous working conditions. If the events were related, it was never determined and it was not for another sixty years did the Thorn of Razue return to Imperial space.
In 603.M41, the Thorn of Razue has returned and this time the Adeptus Mechanicus will not let the Space Hulk escape its grasp. The original scans of the Space Hulk suggested the hulk was made up of primarily four vessels, assorted asteroids and random space junk that had merged with it over time. The scans were never able to fully penetrate the hulk and the scans were left inconclusive if the Hulk could harbor any forms of life. However, with this newest appearance, it is clear there might be life aboard the Hulk.
The Hulk has changed in mass and shape once more and this time it has a fifth addition to the ships that make up its bulk. The fifth vessel, positively identified as the Emperor's Steed, has formed into a rear engine and is slowly propelling the hulk with a crash heading of the Forgeworld, Zerria Prime. The crash course appears deliberate and the Hulk has attracted more than just the Adeptus Mechanicus attention.
With the current crash course, it would take exactly thirteen weeks and six days of stellar travel before the Hulk would become a real threat. It is with this comfort zone, three Imperial factions have come to the Hulk for their own reasons. The Inquisition, the Adeptus Mechanicus and a Cabal of Rogue Traders have all targeted the Hulk and after a few heated debates and minor conflicts, the three factions have reached an agreement on a joint-operation to scour the Space Hulk.

Faction's Purpose:
The Ordo Malleus is being led by Inquisitor Lord Ajenik Ryker in the pursuit of possible daemonic corruption of the Space Hulk. With the appearance of both the Emperor's Steed and the Zealot's Hammer, the Ordo Malleus is taking all possible precautions of a daemonic infection aboard the Space Hulk. The Emperor's Steed was lost to the warp during a mysterious Geller Field failure and the Zealot's Hammer was reported lost during the Gothic War. Both ships have mysteriously merged with the Space Hulk and with the Emperor's Steed own stellar engines powering the Hulk, Ryker is under the firm belief that Chaos has a hand in the Hulk's unusual movements.
Faction's Leader Background:
Name: Inquisitor Lord Ajenik Ryker
Age: 216 Terran years
Gender: Male
Role: Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Lord
Belief: Radical
Height: 5'11
Weight: 210lbs
Appearance: Lord Ryker is a man cut from granite and has the physique of a man a 1/3 of his age. He has a barrel chest, strong built arm and leg muscles and has multiple scars on his hands, torso and one across his right eye down to his neck. His right hand was lost to a Greater Daemon of Nurgle and is now a bionic replacement that contains a built in digital laser. His eyes are the color of stone and his hair is a closely cropped pearl white. His skin is deeply tanned and appears leathery from his years of field work. There are signs of his actual physical age upon his body, but because of rejuvenating techniques and Imperial medicine, his body is kept fit and strong.
Personality: Ryker is a strong willed individual that is extremely stubborn, arrogant, and a strong believer in the Imperial Faith. He is uncompromising in his faith and can be classified as a radical puritan. To him Chaos is merely a tool to be wielded and ultimately tempered into a weapon by Humanity. It is his firm belief that to tame the warp is to ultimately defeat it. On a personal level, Ryker is a different man, but after a long career with the Inquisition, it is rare for anyone to know this other side of Ryker.
Wargear: Ryker is an Inquisitor of the Ordos Malleus and uses a variety of weapons and wargear shaped with the sole purpose of destroying the Daemon.
Background: The early years of Ajenik Ryker are of no real purpose and it was at the age of seventeen, Ryker was inducted into the Inquisition by pure chance. He was the son of a grain farmer and instead of taking over his father's trade, he joined the Imperial Guard. On the Founding day of his new regiment, a hidden chaos cult erupted from the shadows and through the whole affair into disorder. The Chaos cult's masters had used the cultists to enact a rebellion while they prepared to release a Greater Daemon from its bindings deep within a mountain range.
Ryker's squad had been pinned down by enemy fire and through the actions of an Inquisitor, Ryker and his squad had been saved. It was to be double-sided sword and his squad was immediately requisitioned by the Inquisitor and they were dragged into a nightmare. The Inquisitor, two of his operatives and Ryker returned from the mountains after banishing the Greater Daemon. This moment changed Ajenik Ryker's life and he willingly accepted the Inquisitor's offer of joining his retinue. Of course Ryker had no idea if he denied, he would have had his memory wiped and sent to a work camp for the rest of his known life.
For six years, Ryker fulfilled a bodyguard for the Inquisitor and without directly meaning to, began to learn the basics of daemonhunting. Ryker had an insatiable desire to read and further his learning and instinctively took in what the Inquisitor was doing. It was these traits that saved the life of his Inquisitor master and his own during a conflict with a Daemonhost. The Daemonhost had rendered the Inquisitor unconscious halfway through the banishing rites and it was with cold steel determination that Ajenik Ryker, finished the Rites and banished the Daemon. His actions were witnessed by the survivors of the retinue and once they were reported to the Inquisitor, he was promoted to Interrogator.
For the next fifteen years, Ryker served with the Inquisitor as an Interrogator and then after completing the trials, he became an Inquisitor on his own. His record of accomplishments soared with the destruction of the nefarious Death Infection Cult and the grossly suicidal End Days cult and the daemonic masters in charge of them that nearly brought two sub-sectors to their very knees. Over the past two centuries of service, Ryker has been involved in multiple banishments, destruction of several cults and has destroyed two space hulks invested with Chaos daemons.
After many years of warfare, Ryker is efficient with a variety of weapons and prefers to use what the battlefield dictates. He has been trained in power armor and has stridden to war in it a few times. His preferred fighting style is with his Daemonhammer, a thrice-blessed Bolter and power armor, but because of this, he has been drawn towards a tactical role.
Ryker has been advised by his own Masters to rely upon on secondary Inquisitors and Interrogators acting in his steed during field work and has since taken to a battlefield role. Working from a stronger tactical role, Ryker is able to use multiple resources in planning the destruction of Chaos cults and dispatching of them, but he does miss the field. He is still known to take to the field during the dire of situations and to this day does not shirk from the Emperor's Will.
Faction Leader's Opinion:
Adeptus Mechanicus: Useful and strong allies with potential for further cooperation and allegiances. Remain vigilant for ulterior motives and prevention of priority objectives.
Rogue Trader: Greed drives them and will be their undoing. Make use of their manpower before they end up dying because of their greed.

Adeptus Mechanicus:
Sub-Faction: Explorator Fleet
Faction Leader: Archmagos Explorator Cian'Naki
Force Size and Fleet:
-10,000 Tech Guard arranged into a Regiment
-2,000 Praetorians
-Raging Tempest, Emperor Class Battleship, one Dictator class cruiser, one Dominator class cruiser, three Sword Frigates, five Cobra class Destroyers, and two support cruisers carrying troops and machinist shops.
Notable NPCs:
-Tech Magos Geerva
-Tech Adept Mauve
-Machinist Magos Seroun
-Magos Bioligis Lyster
-Veteran Sergeant Athon 11.3
-Captain Jerik 227
Faction's Purpose:
The Adeptus Mechanicus have been hunting the Thorn of Razue for a century and with this sighting, it is mobilizing a fleet to either strip the hulk apart or render it destroyed. All the sightings have yielded information of the Space Hulk and it is believed a Pre-Imperial human vessel merged with the Hulk. This vessel clearly holds data and technology that is priceless to the Adeptus Mechanicus and it is with their determination they will rip the secrets out of the Hulk in the name of the Omnissiah.
Faction Leader's Background:
Name: Archmagos Explorator Cian'Naki
Age: 236
Gender: Male
Role: Archmagos Explorator
Belief: Omnissiah
Height: 6'2
Weight: 310lbs
Appearance: Cian'Naki is 65% bionic and 35% flesh organs. His left and right eyes are both bionic with different variety of scanners built in. His brain has been upgraded with multiple processors and datacores designed to store and process information at a faster rate. His right arm has been removed and replaced with a massive breacher drill while his left arm is only augmented to hold the drill in place. Multiple internal organs have been replaced with bionics like his lung, heart, liver and kidneys while other organs are merely waiting to fail before needing to be replaced. His legs have been augmented to withstand the recoil of the drill and he is able to 'lock into place' using the tools.
He wears an iron mask tempered to only show his eyes and allows a slot for his mouth to be partially seen. He is usually covered in the robes of his office and has four mechanadrites, three with various working tool assemblies and the fourth being armed with a double barrel shotgun.
Personality: Cian'Naki has little need for human emotion and thinks everything over logically. His purpose is one of the Omnissiah and there is no reason to prevent him from ever achieving this singular goal. Technology was created for them to discover, use and preserve until such a time when the Omnissiah would permit them to learn of a new advancement. He is radical in the sense he encourages those amongst his fleet to tinker with ancient technology and to learn what the Omnissiah has provided them with. He is a strong willed individual and even though he may appear shadowy and far removed from a situation, it is all to achieve his singular goal.
Wargear: Cian'Naki rarely strides to fight in a war-like situation and prefers that such matters are resolved by the flesh units under his service. However when there is such a time he can not sit back, he takes to war using whatever he can from his own workshops. His usual wargear is power armor, a combi-bolter and his power drill for an arm.
Background:
Not much is known of Cian'Naki's rise within the Priesthood namely because he was nothing special in regards to abilities or traits on his path to becoming a Tech Priest. Once he achieved the lofty role of a Tech Priest, he was assigned to an Explorator Fleet with the position of maintaining the weapons of the Tech Guard. For six years, he was still unknown until the faithful day the ship he was aboard was boarded by Orks intent on plundering the holy vessel of the Omnissiah.
Without flinching, Cian'Naki took up a bolter and led a desperate resistance deep in the Enginerium and Machinist decks against the Ork menace. It was because of his resistance and increasing number of victories that ultimately drew in the Ork in charge of the whole boarding party. Upon killing this Ork Chieftain, the rest of the Orks fell into disarray and the ship was able to purge the remaining Orks. However for years afterwards there was always the odd rumor, mysterious death or obscured viewing that suggested some Orks still survived like a cancer within the ship.
The results of the resistance did not go unnoticed and the battered Tech Priest Cian'Naki was taken to the medical bays to be repaired. He was given multiple bionic organs and his right arm was replaced with a bionic arm replacement. For his actions, the Archmagos of the ship promoted the Tech Priest to a Tech Magos and was invited to join them on actual ground excavations.
Tech Magos Cian'Naki was in charge of the Tech Adepts and servitors maintaining the grounds force weapons and in this role he was also allowed to view the recently discovered sites. It was because of this freedom and the mysterious death of the Archmagos that Cian'Naki found a rich seem of technology. The excavation had dug up an ancient bionic hospital on a long and forgotten world and when the first party went to investigate with the Archmagos they never returned.
Tech Magos Cian'Naki led the second party with Tech Guard stormtroopers and found the remains of the first party. It seemed the clinic had security measures and upon disabling them, Cian'Naki discovered advancements in bionic eyes in the ancient datacores. The information alone was extremely priceless and upon that single discovery the whole place was stripped down to nothing. When he returned the information to his Forgeworld, he was promoted to Magos Explorator and received his own vessel.
After that, Magos Cian'Naki has excavated numerous technological sites and even though the technology acquired pales in comparison to his first dig, he has continued to grow a strong powerbase within the political wheel of the Adeptus Mechanicus. He was apart of the first fleet during the second appearance of the Thorn of Razue and has been waiting patiently for the time the Hulk would reappear. He knows what dangers lie ahead in stripping the ancient Hulk, but the technology aboard it outweighs the risk.
Archmagos Explorator Cian'Naki had quite a group of followers and has brought much of the fleet assigned to him to strip the Hulk. Blessed by the Masters of the Adeptus Mechanicus, he seeks to strip the Hulk in the name of the Omnissiah and claim its technology for the good of the Adeptus Mechanicus and ultimately Humanity.
Faction Leader's Opinion:
Inquisition: Can become counter-productive to achieve goals. Close observation and duplicity may be required. Appear to follow all protocols.
Rogue Trader: Useful resource. Easy to manipulate and control through various means. Necessary ally if Inquisition proves troublesome.
