VN's Vintage Chaos Emporium (a blog of sorts...)

    Greetings all,

I present for your enjoyment a showcase of my old school Chaos army... The intention being that this will inspire me to finish painting those last few units to call it 'complete'! More than likely however, I'll just continue to feed my addiction for ancient Chaos Space Marines and update it as and when!

Now, I certainly don't claim to be the best painter around (I'm faaar too lazy), but hopefully you'll enjoy them. The army was initially a Death Guard army, but as you'll see I'm adding a few additional followers of other gods.

So without further ado, here is what I have so far....

    Full army shot

    Daemon Prince Vomikron Noxis

    Daemon Prince Mutander Bubonicus

    Summoned Greater Daemon Slumpscha

    Termicide Squad

    More to follow...

Plague Marine Squad: Black Death (this squad has since changed a little, updated photos to follow...)

    Plague Marine Squad: Red Pox

    Plague Marine Squad: Yellow Fever

    More to come....

    Obliterators 1

    Obliterators 2

    Nurgling infested objectives

Well that's the lot for now, I hope you enjoy. In the pipeline, with WIP pics to follow very shortly are a bunch of vintage Khorne Berzerkers, a couple of updated pics of the Plague Marines, and a couple of RT-era Dreadnoughts.

Best stop typing and get painting then!

Old school awesomesauce! Makes me happy seeing those old Plague Marines again, not to mention that your Daemon Princes and GUO are absolutely stunning. The whole army goes together really well, one of those armies that it'd be a joy to battle whatever the outcome.

    Looking forward to more,
    BTB

    NURGLINGS!!!

If I ever did make a Nurgle force, it would have to have a giant base of nurglings as a unit. I mean like having 100 fantasy bases put together 10X10, and it covered in NURGLINGS!! Love those little buggers!

I like how your army looks, the old models really did protray a Serious yet unbelievableness that is Warhammer.

Very nice! One of the nurglings on one of the bases looks like an epic GUO.

Thanks for the kind words so far fellas, but keep em coming, I need the encouragement! I have for you fine gentlemen a very small update, but it is a sign of things to come....

I present to you my upcoming painting projects, 8 old school Berzerkers and 2 RT Dreadnoughts:

    Berzerkers

    Dreads

A couple of minor conversions on the Dreads, just altering the arms to have two DCCWs to minimize fire frenzies! Anyway, just a teaser as painting begins soon!

I sold most of my RT chaos stuff when I was broke as a bum a few years back. Seeing these old boys nearly brings a tear to my eye, so thanks for the memories! Nice paint jobs, and looking forward to seeing those dreads done. Chop chop now...

Great stuff here! I love the old school models (particularly those dreds), and your painting is very clean (in a Nurglish way, of course). The paint job on the Greater Daemon and the Daemon Prince are especially characterful. Wonderful work.

Great to see some of the old guys getting some attention.

Well it's not much of an update, but it's an update nonetheless! Here for your viewing pleasure are a couple of WIP shots of the first two Berzerkers...

Nice stuff! I have always dug the old Chaos marines and think that they should get back to their roots regarding the chaos models.

The finish on your models is ace like the way youve aged it a bit and seeing a bone looking plague army is new for me as well.
Normally I see dark green or rotting flesh.

Like the way your berzerkers have turned out, sure would like to see some paint on those old school dreads

Re: VN's Vintage Chaos Emporium (a blog of sorts...)

Cheers fellas! I wonder if you could help me with my dilemma actually... I'm wondering whether to paint the dreads in World Eaters colours, or in Death Guard colours (perhaps even one each...), what do you guys think?

Re: VN's Vintage Chaos Emporium (a blog of sorts...)

I would paint the bodies death guard and make the shoulderplates world eater colours

Personally, I would do one in Death Guard colours and one as a World Eater. Variation is always good after all.

Great log btw, the old miniatures were and still are rather characterful.
