Heh, the old blood slaughterers look so ungainly now...
I know, it's so ugly! That just makes me love it even more though!

Cool, got any pics? I did think about converting it, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it!

Yes I do. The one on the right is a Zoat and the one on the left is a beast of nurgle.

Looks good man, nice choice of classic colour scheme too. I'm also very jealous of your Zoat, that really is a classic!

    Hail brothers!

Got a little update for you tonight... got the Blood Slaughterer finished:

It's a right weird little model, but I think that adds to its charm and it really epitomises old school Chaos!

    Hey, its back!
I really like the shading on your bone colours. I have that model and a FW blood-slaughterer, its quite amusing to put them side by side. The old guy is fairly dwarfed by his successor.

Haha that is briliant! Very funny and nostalgic (and a nice paint coat btw).

As well as looking really nice anyway, your log is a real 'trip down memory lane' for me, as I have -or had- almost all these models apart from the metal Khorne berserkers (bah, humbug!).

I really like the Blood Slaughterer; I was thinking the other day about trying to scratchbuild one of these (as I remember them from back in the day), but I couldn't recall really what it looked like.
I think I'll be updating it (e.g. giving it bigger shoulderpads and a bigger torso/back with a smaller helmet crest). Thank you for the reminders and the inspirations.
I am urgently trying to contact any living relatives of Sam 'Jock' Wilson, KIA 10.06.44, UK army service id 2764432, from Morley, West Yorkshire, England. Served with Black Watch Regiment & No.6 Commando.

Thanks once again for the replies chaps! Glad you like the Blood Slaughterer, I'm very pleased with how he came out.

@andyg2006: Sounds like a good project, I'd be interested to see how it pans out. Drop me a PM if you need any pics from various angles to help.

Got a small update for you tonight: A third reconditioned Khornate Rhino, courtesy of the Dark Mechanicus (or eBay to you and I...)

Put a bit less conversion work into this one, mainly because it arrived in pretty good condition. What do you guys think, does it need more added to it, or does it work as is? I'm definitely one for keeping my vehicles fairly simple mind you. Let me know your thoughts brothers!

Your bits boxes must be as mad as mine. Ork bolters, a jugger head and chainswords from monopose berzerkers ... cool. I think its good as it is, any more might be too busy.

Like you wouldn't believe!! Glad you like it brothers, I was trying to avoid going overboard with the details. Got a coat of primer on it now and I'm happy I left it as is. Currently also working on a Khornified Abaddon, so look out for him quite soon...

Evening brothers! Thanks once again for all the positive comments, it really keeps me motivated. To prove it, I have an update for you....

Got my "counts as" Abaddon finished, although he now goes by the name Akilleus Bloodglutter:

Fairly minor conversion work done to him, although I did file down the Black Legion symbol and sculpt a more fitting World Eaters symbol for him:

Finally, here he is hanging out in the warp with his buddies (i.e. the rest of my HQ):

Hope you like him brothers, let me know what you think!

Mr Bloodglutter is looking lovely. A nice Khornate version of Abadon.

Those are some VERY nice looking reds VN. And an absolutely badass shoulder guard on 'Abaddon'. How did you sculpt that? I want to be able to do that too!

Thank you brother! The shoulder guard wasn't too tricky actually, but it took a bit of time. I filed down the old shoulder guard so it was nice and smooth, then sculpted the top row of teeth from green stuff (not really difficult, but very fiddly!). I left that to dry and then did the same with the bottom row. Once they were both dry, I flattened out some thin strips and smoothed them over the teeth to make the gums (making sure it was pushed into the recesses between the teeth). Once it was all dry I went over it with a file to smooth it out where there were any bits I wasnt happy with and used a bit of liquid green stuff just to tidy it up. Took a long time and was very fiddly, but not too bad in the long run. My advice would be to just give it a shot! Don't worry if you cock it up either, as you can always scrap it and start again (this is my third attempt, including the aborted Khorne symbol that I just couldn't get to look right!).
