Blood Angels 2nd Company "The Blooded" - by Vahouth - Power weapons tutorial page 3
Hello everyone!
It's been a long time since I posted anything here on Warseer,
so after I've moved in to my new home and the birth of my son,
I have the time I need to hopefully complete a full Company of BAs!
I will post the latest of my work here, and try to keep up as fast as I can.
So I'll begin with the Company's Captain, none other than Donatos Aphael himself. (my version of him at least)
and a TDA Librarian.

Oooh I just LOVE those power-weapons and SFX!!!
They look really crackling with aetheric fire and stuff
And on a slight sidenote, I also like this sorta 'comic book' look that these miniatures have - viciously inspirationsl, I might say..
I demand you do MORE POWAH WAEPONZ!!!

I had an accident drilling the barrel, so I decided to GS a blast instead of replacing the arm.

First off, those are probably the most stunning BA's I have ever seen in my life. The little freehand extras are exquisite and the effect on the power weapons is superb.
Secondly, how the hell do you find the time to paint with a new child? My sons now 5 months, and I have only managed 2 regular marines in that time!!!

My daughter seems to like what I do, as she tries to best me even, lol

As for my son, the black rage hasn't invaded him yet.
He is a really quiet chap as you can see...

I'm also considering drilling the smoke launchers on top, when I find a bigger drill...

Nice, I love your use of Cinematic Effects. How did you do the lighning jumping from your libby's hand? I've been trying to find a technique on that.
Your assault squad is coming along good, I like the firing marine, and how you used a bit of Directional lighting along with the cinematic effect to create a more dynamic pose.
this log is full of inspiration and is a really great read, thanks for posting. And yes, I agree with Alexos, how did you get such a neat effect on the Librarian? Superglue?
Also, your power weapons make me want to go back and change mine, first time I've liked the power inside of the blade effect, very nice! Any chance of a tutorial?

Lovely work, especially on the captain! Saved most of the pictures to my inspiration folder and will be looking at them next time I paint my own BA.
