I've been around for a while, and have to admit this is about the most stupid and blatantly dishonest thing I have seen GW do.

Q: Will the SoC list remain legal after the campaign?
    A: Yes.

Yeah right, not in the GT, nor in any of the competitions that will follow the GT lead. In other words it won't be legal anywhere it actually matters.

Good news for a lot of people in my shops that have been working on these armies for GT's, and putting in a lot of time, money, and effort.
Thats what I thought 'cause all the stores I have been to say that it will not be banned, however I do not know about international tournaments, I knew this was coming thats why (hehe) I have 3 SoC books!

I guess sales of SoC related minies went down. GW rewarded all the people who bought SoS minies and armies by saying "sorry not allowed this year".

Yeah way to go that'll teach people how much to trust what GW tells them (to get more money out of them).

Let's see now......GW's braintrust is trying to increase attendence at events by disallowing last years themed/featured armies???

Actually, guys, none of the campaign books remain in print after the campaign. Thats the way it is.

I think both Eye of Terror and Armageddon are still in print, or at least, they still have them in the warehouse and can be ordered.

    Yep.

Perhaps they changed the policy, or for whatever reasons are retiring SoC books. Maybe due to 7th edition. Who knows.

But yes, it's all a massive conspiracy to rob you of your firstborn so that Tom Kirby can continue eating small children.

Probably Storm of Chaos was cut cause it didn't sell well to people who didn't play Chaos Eye of Terror has lists for various armies

At least in my shops, SoC outsells EoT and Armageddon by 5 to 1. I'm not sure what you mean about it not selling to to people that don't play chaos, as it has many army lists in it. Middenheim, Dwarf Slayers, Dark Elf cult of Slanesh, High Elf sea guard, Orc Hardboys, Brettonian Errantry List, Sylvanian VC, along with the chaos demon legions and Archaeons horde. It's actually a pretty much Warhammer World Tour. One could only hope that they put out a book with such a complete selection of new army lists again.

One could only hope that if they put out such a selection of lists again, they actually playtest all of them before they publish them...

Aside from that, yeah, it does have a nice broad appeal with lists for many races and as such worked well as a campaign supplement.

And the great, funny and balanced Skaven Eshin list.

No new minis needed, but a totally different way of playing with (and against) skavens.

Whether Storm of Chaos is out of print or not......Until the armybooks are re-issued they are useable. IMHO, so too should be SoC.
