    Well, that's a relief.

    WIP dwarven doors

I'm experimenting with them now, but I think my next doors will like like this. But more than 2 per design aren't planned to cast, in sum thereabout 20, I want to kepp varations in my door collection. If you remember they are modular, closable and lockable with portcullis, this reduces the amount of needed doors.

Hope we have enough basics to realize the dungeon builders' log. My next (last) project will be a prison with modular cells, but after it, I'm running out of ideas...

Loving the work here, very impressive!

You mention wanting the skull eyes on your large room to light up.
    These may do the job?

If the pun here wasn't intentional, that makes it even more entertaining.

Honestly I'm amazed by this stuff. I expect you to hurry up and finish it and then send it to my house so I can play on it. I haven't sat down to play a game of HeroQuest in a decade but I love "window-shopping" for when I finally have free time again! The modular system you've come up with is brilliant and really makes for some great variety. And the spiral staircases are excellent.

It looks like you used nails for the bars/grates... a cool idea, and it saves you painting them!

    Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks for the links, but I think it's too expensive for my project (and for the worth of two lamps).

I only post what I have, the rest is your imagination...
If you follow the dungeon threads in this forum part, I'm sure you revive your HeroQuest again or try out the rules of Warhammer Quest. "There's life in the old dog yet."
And when I will find the time I will release some short rules to bring in 3D elements into any fantasy game. That's one important point of my work.
As to the nails you are right, they are very cheap and I use a variety of them, according to the right size. The sewage grates are precoloured, but finally I will add some brown and dark tones to give them an older style. For the traps I use so called "Täcks" (found no translation, but it's used by shoemaking), they look more asymetric and are mor expensive, but I associate it more with a trap spike.

The weekend in nearly 2 weeks we have a meeting of german HQ fans and there I'm introducing my dungeon with an "8+ hero player, 2+ master" game. All details about the dungeon plan, used room etc is top secret, but you I will upload some picture after it all. I'm full of anticipation and very busy.
The full dungeon is already build-on at my table, but we (the second master and I) have found out, that there are a few things needed - remember it's an 8+ player dungeon - aprons, doors, coloured furnitures...

Re: Eredrian's Warhammer Quest 3D dungeon

It's been a long time since my last visit here. Meanwhile I had a website change, trying new materials, experimenting with cutting tools, new stuff and a redesign of my whole dungeon (especially the change to 3x3cm^2 fields and 45^connections), current version 3.

Old, but nice (door sizes remain the same in my dungeon v3, so there's no need to recreate the old ones), color study for the dwarven door (created & painted with LibreOffice Impress).

Here is the current point of activities, redesigned rooms with better colors and multi functional doors:
(Sorry, I need to experiment with the digicam, because the shows colors are far away from reality)

The edited doors have pillars on their sides, so I can add on other rooms. This means there's no need for extra pillars. The levels can be reached over some stairways or stand alone as platforms for archers.
Of course the doors still remain movable and their top can be exchanged. Now I can choose from a normal lid (only to cover), a portculli and a stonewall. The stonewall can be used in two ways, the first is as trap, the second is as fake door (the heroes open the door only to see blank stone in their way).

    Extended traps
As you know I used rooms with removable fields revealing pit traps and all my minis have magnet bases. To combine it I designed new fields with spikes (iron nails). On one side the spikes and on the opposite side plain. The clou is, if a miniature is placed on such a trap field, the magnetic force hovers the field up and it hangs below the base. Now the player knows his mini has discovered the trap. The field will be replaced with the spikes upside on its former place, the mini on top.

Comments are welcome and be full of expection for my next reveals.

Your trap ideas are inspired! I would love to have a game with you running it! The effects on the photos really bring it all to life as well. I have full on Warhammer Quest envy.

    Hey everybody,

thanks for your gentle responses. I do my best to get you up to date. But I'm serious, the frequency of my posts will raise down because I'm running out of free building time. For this reason I try to collect my new creations and relase them in only once per monthly update.
