A BIG Tau commission

As it says on the tin I've been given a Tau army to paint up (buy the same guy who had me do THESE (must be doing something right)) the final lists not been sent to me yet but is gonna be very suit heavy and inc some FW goodies!!


i'll let the photos do the talking for me......

here's the first fire warrior squad this shows the basic colours that we're going with

Very sharp indeed. I would add something constructive, but I can't see anything to improve on. The armour colour is nicely muted, and I like the skin tone too.

a manta would be nice..... Will have to see whats get's sent my way once the current lots done......

the black/grey helmets for the squad leaders the first one would have been the same but he err left it on the Orca?? :-P

still not sure what to do about the gun barrels dont know if i should leave them as they are paint them a difrent colour or drill them out (there bloody tiny though so that would be a pain)

hears the last unit that I've got completed at the moment..

been painting a lota Iron Hands lately and it stuck me that it would work well as a Black Ops theme....so here's the Tron stealth team

and for your question, i think the gun barrels would look best in black,

perhaps if you really want to have the effect of a litle hole in it paint them metal end leave a litlle black cirlce in the middle?

that works for my gun barrels, but then again iam not nearly as good a painter as you and iam lazy

Are the fire warriors tan, khaki, deneb stone? They don't photograph as vomit brown.

Superb painting! One of the things that I do love about TAU units is how good and clean they can look, without becoming sterile. Really like the beige and black color scheme.

While I do like the stealth suits as well, I personally don't think they're as good as the fire warrior team. The stark white lines against the black make them very busy, almost cluttered and we miss out on a bit of shading and highlights. Still, they don't look bad, just not as good as the fire warriors.

Good work, also looking forward to seeing more!

really wanted them to stand out as a stealth squad hance the black rather than the fire warrior scheme
