Brother Heavy was brought into 5th Company to provide some much needed fire-power my cousin's Tyranid force - We battled yesterday, but even with Brother Heavy the Blood Ravens were slain to a man!!!

And yes, that is a mold line across his helmet and yes, I am planning on getting back to the eyes, and doh! - I also just noticed I have left the edge of the base unfinished as well!

What do you use for your red tones?

My red recipe:
- 50/50 water/ mechrite red basecoat x 2
- 50/50 devlan mud/badab black wash - while wet I use a dry brush and soak up the wash from the middle of the armour plates
- Blazing orange drybrush (yet to be done on these Terminators)
- Baal red wash to tone down the Blazing orange a little
- Very light Scorched brown in the deep shadows... I might get adventurous with the Terminators and try Liche Purple instead, after reading on a GD painter's BLOG that you shouldn't use brown to shade red...

Your son is very lucky to have such a talented and generous Dad, these Blood Ravens are looking cracking! The red you've used for them is nice and deep but seems quite a simple recipe to follow, might have to give it a go if I ever settle on a Marine Chapter to paint up.

Just checked out plot for the first time! I was missing out!!

I love how much individuality are being given to each marine, some great conversions and poses going on. And they sure do love standing in precarious positions, no doubt tonshow off their mad balancing skills!!

Where is that mesh type basing from for the termies? I really like it, and wouldn't mind getting myself some!

It's the grey cooling mesh from an xbox 360 - it has a really tough coating you have to sand a little to glue, and use super glue not plastic glue.
