So many models, so little time. Sprugly's blog.

Hi all and welcome to my first blog.

The main reason i becided to start this is to give me inspiration to work faster on the next project in the new year.

But more on that later. i know everyone wants pictures in these blogs and i aim to please. i'm a busy guy with a now 13 week old daughter so don't expect to much speedy progress.

But to wet your appetites here are some pics of my last army. a slightly eastern, manga themed space marine army. The Scarlet Dragons.

    First the "workspace" shot

i know, i'm messy. just can't help it.

    tactical marines

    Assault marines

Sterguard vets with combi weapons. The barrel of the secondary weapons can be swapped out to arm the squad as needed. Top middle is my pedro cantor stand in, Itachi Mushima.

cheers, loved the idea of a dude running round with a full size heavy flamer! He's also about 5mm taller than a normal marine, even without the basing. I put spacers under the feet, at the waist and cut and lengthened his legs.

I'm planning to do similar to the chaos dudes next year to size them up a bit!

The blade is plasticard, hilt is a terminator crux pendant type thing filed down, the handle is just brass rod and there is a plume of hair on the end that i've just realized you can't see thats from an orks topknot. Carving the blade is a little fiddly, its not a perfect curve but its not too bad.

    These are great!
I love the wounded objective marker!

Most of all though, your chaos marine tester is fantastic - really like the the Daemon-Centaur as well. That would be amazing realised as a model!

I love the upcoming Chaos stuff! As for the Centaur Juggernaut, I think that you might want to use a Terminator torso rather than a marine one, due to the size of the Juggernaut!

yeah the torso will be marine, termi or daemon prince depending on the size. Just got some juggers so i'll be having a good look at them later.

Looking at the hellblades they come with he might end up having one of those rather than an axe though.

Why not give him a two handed glaive with the blade based on the hellblades. Maybe incorporate some sort of bolter or twin linked bolter in there, kind of like this guardian spear. Would be a very twisted weapon!

that is a cool weapon and is a possability for my guy. It won't technically be two handed no matter how big it is though.

The other arm will be a large flowing mutation. If you've every seen Naruto, it'll be like Gaara's arms when the sand deamon starts to show itself. i've included a couple of pics i googled. It will probably be black with silver or red viens and claw tips though. I like the idea of a constant mutation, changing and shifting all the time.
