The hot tub unit is finished! Nice!![]()
That's quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen in a lizardmen army.
A great looking unit. The circles in the water are fantastic and turn this into something really special.

I love the vibrant colors, and the whole idea of the unit surfacing from the water is absolutely brilliant! And well executed to boot! I'm especially fond of the small details like the fountain in the shape of a lizardman head.

The slipping out of water effect is really well done: the conversions, the positioning and the painting ( both lizards and water effects) are all great. The freehand cracks are a nice small addition too.
A+ unit for me! :-)

Today I fought a battle against a local player's brilliant bretonnian VC army; it has hundreds of pieces of bretonnian gear, like helmets, clothes, shields etc. Ghoul peasants! It looks great. It was a bit of a staggered beginning; salamanders fire in the first turn and kill 10'ish graveguard and 10'ish zombies, but all the casualties are raised back in 1 go and them some, while the salamanders flee a charge, passing through the templeguard and then being bumped off the table due to the 1" rule by 3 chameleons that fled to that position before them. In combat the saurus received a heay clobbering from the crypt horrors, though they did stand firm for round after round, and after the first round actually won by 1 every time (any wounds done were raised back though, so I was making no progress at allHowever the templeguard made a decisive charge against the horde of graveguard with a red fury-quick blood str7 vampire lord, with red fury vampire hero sidekick and the slann chose the best time ever to do his job, casting flesh to stone on IF, with 4 dice, and also casting earthblood, for a formidable T8 4+ regenerating templeguard unit, which suffered only 2 casualties in 3 rounds. With the graveguard and 2 vampires crumbled, the game was pretty much decided.

Great bat rep, the VC army does look very pretty. I also love your spawning lizardmen, the trickle of water out of the mouths at the back is a really nice addition!

Nice batrep![]()
I have to ask though, how did he manage to get even a single spell through with your slann around?![]()
The slann rolling exactly 1 short a couple of times, when a fairly low roll was required (needed to make 12 (well, 16, so 12 + lvl4 = 16) and rolled 4 dice, rolled 11.
Plus he had 12 powerdice in one phase, and the mortis engine gives +2 to cast to casters nearby, so that's +6 for the lvl4 vamp.

A really great and unique unit of Saurus; the use of the spare heads as part of the pool is cool.

I like the spawning pool
awesome work as always bearded one.
great basing, visually pleasing & origional scheme & smatter of conversions equals a brilliant looking army.
whats your bone/spine recipe?
I was, but I didn't steal particularly manyI believe one time he rolled 4 dice, one of which was a 6 (which I stole), and the remainng 3 were 1, 2 and 3. With the +6 to cast bonus it was still 12, enough to cast his spell. My dispel rol then totalled 11, 1 short of dispelling.
Calvin's VC, he comes to the GW now and then.Ive never seen that army before though... Someone new came to the store?![]()
@ Gonzilla: The bone helmets the templeguard are wearing, are (or were, you'll have to find the equivalent in the new paints) dheneb stone, washed with devlan mud. Nice and easy.
Other bone decorations, teeth, etc. are graveyard earth, highlighted with kommando khaki. The result is more or less the same, just a tiny bit different from the dheneb stone-devlan mud variation.

Greetings, dear log readers! It's been a month and a half since I posted anything, so I better make up for it with several dozen pictures!
This is from a tournament over a month ago in the netherlands, on may 13th.
I was finishing up the lizardmen for a large tournament, which went quite well. It was the "battle of the clubs" where you score together with your 'club' or 'team' of 3-5 people. Every round your captain picks 3 player of your team to count their points as scoring double, so if you're with 4 or 5 players then those people who have matchups they dont feel confident about, will count less for the end result as those matches you think you are more likely to win. A bit of gambling basically, guessing who in your team are more likely to win, in order to get as many points as possible. We were with 4, and I was scoring double each round. I had a match against chaos warriors first which ended in 10-10, then against a lizardmen monstermash (stegadon with warspear skinkchief, normal stegadon and carnosaur) which due to a bit of bad luck and terrain, and a large blob of T6 regerating templeguard, ended in 18-2 for me, and finally against ogres with 2 large blocks of bulls, some mournfang and a stonehorn, which eventually turned out into 16-4 for me. Really happy with my first solo tournament (I've been to several doubles-tournaments before, but never simple 1vs1). You also had to put forward 2 of the people from your team for best painted army, and the judges would pick out 5 teams on which all the players could then vote. Our team got a nomination, though we didn't win. We were happy with the nomination though.
I made sure to snap lots of pictures;
