If my usual schedule is anything to go by, 5-6 hours before the tournament starts will be the first time my DW will be completely done and finished, ready for viewing!
Thanks! No pics of the DW? guess Ill have to wait until the tournament ;-)

I have been working on the Vendetta's here are some pics of the first, I still have a lot of work to do, but it's slowly getting there.

I'm having some issues with light (one of my desk lamps died) Hopefull I can get a new bulb tomorrow, and take some proper pics.

    C&C welcome as always

    thanks for looking

    cheers

As I already mentioned yesterday. I am so jealous. It looks really awesome.

    Was a great game.

Can you put op those killakans for the colourscheme? I'd really like to see that.

It was a Great game indeed!

No update at the moment as I forgot to take pics during the final stage of the build process. For a tournament (for which a painted army was not required) I wanted my army to be atleast coated black. So I rivetted the hell out of the Vendetta's and Valks, and everything else that still required rivets. I can't get a proper pic as i'm still down a desk lamp, hope to get one soon so I can take proper pics again.

But as requested by Phaia here's a pic of the colors i have been thinking of using, I have to say that there's not a lot of grey to see, the front shots came out to dark so you'll have to do it with a side shot.....really need that 2nd lamp!!!

VMC German Grey, with red and copper

The Kan only has a base coat and still has to be finished,

While discussing my army build and the colors I would use with Phaia,
She told me that she believed that German Grey will be to dark to do this army justice, as she believed the grey is to dark and would hide certain details I have addedd to the models,

I think I can make it work with German Grey, though I must admit that there where more people who voted against German Grey, so what do you say? let me know.

I intent to use a lot of Copper to add a steampunkish look to it.
Do you believe that the Copper can/will break the Dark grey enough?

    Thanks,

    cheers,

    Bra'tac

    Re: When Grots Rebel!

From that picture it does look a bit dark imo. Of course just basing my opinion off one picture, but I think going with a lighter colour would help make all the detail work you've done stand out a bit more. Grey always needs some good contrasting colours, I feel, even more so than other colours. Copper will def help, but not sure it'll be enough!
I think the grey will be especially too dark on the larger areas of the big vehicles (tanks/flyers). But again, just working off the one picture and how I imagine it will look.

I must see the dark grey makes it really dark. I really should reconsider. Perhaps light grey with al little greeny look (weathering) should work fine. Than you can still use the copper, and put in some bright colours for the plates.

Als de the light army green interests me as well like I told during our battle. But you didn't like that. Perhaps some others have good gestures?

Without having seen the whole Killa kan, I would suggest that you use red on more details than just the cables to break up the grey. An odd armour plate, more glyphs, mabe some checks. And you build absolutely stunning! I have read your log for some time now Keep up the good work!

My immediate response to the dark grey is that it is too dark, but perhaps a shot showing the whole model might make it easier to visualise your colour concept. A dark grey scheme could be great and it is maybe just that particular photo putting me off the idea. I'm really looking forward to seeing these beauties painted up!

Both suspensions look very good and different enough to remain in the gob spirit!
    Great!
The aircraft conversion is especially well done, tail and wings pass very well. I'm not very convinced with the front part, maybe could you add 2 big rectangular air intakes both side of the cockpit.

Thanks for brining it up during the battle, saved me from doing "something stupid" I choose Blue as my main color with heavy rust, Hope you like it and that it serves the army right? It's Tamiya TS-15 Blue spraypaint, washed with Devlan mud and then several layers of browns and brown/orange mix (still requires chipping etc)

Thanks Again, hopefully a battle with a fully painted army next time (on both sides )

Thanks!! decided against Dark Grey and went for heavy rusted blue.
    Hope you like it.

Hooray for me ;-) I like the "that thing can't fly, look, and kept it as it is thanks for the suggestion though c&c is always welcome thanks Mediko.

So after some time I finally decided which color I wanted to use.
I decided to use blue as the main color for my vehicles, (Tamiya TS-15 Blue) 1 coat over a chaos black basecoat.

    Which looks like this

The blue looks thick on some spots for some reason.

I started painting a turret I sprayed blue this weekend.

after half an hour it looked like this

I still have lots to do, I only painted rust to get an idea of the effect, and have given the Multi-laser a Beatencopper base coat.

Let me know what you think I'm not much of a painter and really need motivation to keep this going,.....

    Thanks for looking,

    Cheers

really REALLY like the blue, maybe a bit TOO much rust on the turret, if thats the ratio of blue/rust.. but looks great!

This is a really good plog, Bra'tac. Very much enjoying seeing all the hard work and skill that you put into your projects (something I hope to be able to get close to one day with my own stuff).
For me, your stuff is even more 'Orky' than the regular models.

@ Everyone, Thanks for all the support and Motivation.
However I'm in the process of buying a house (waiting for the finalization and the key) and have to start packing.
Meaning the Grots will be boxed for some weeks if not months.
Ill upload some last group shots before I box them.

In other news there will be more Grots when I return with the Rebels.
I decided to remove some upgrades and one chimera and add an infantry platoon.... So 25 more grots will be joining the ranks......yeah more painting

Hope to be back ASAP with some updates.
    stay tuned.

    Cheers,

    Bra'tac

Grots that can shoot? I like it
Your vehicle conversions are truly impressive. I can't pick a favorite between the chimeras, medusas, or hydras. They are all brilliant.
Glad I have found this log at such a great point in its development. Looking forward to moar
