    It's looking pretty exciting bayard, did you work out what you're going to do with the roof? If not, ask on Terragenesis, they're knowledgeable and helpful chaps there...

    Thanks, DeadInTheHead. In fact, I stuck in dead end with the house... I know, what I have to do next, but I don't have enough time to buy required materials. And I have new box of Victrix
    So here we have another assembled battalion with my conversion of pioneer:

    As always, more on my blog

    You're army is expanding rapidly!

    Can't wait to see some paint on these guys, I've no doubt this force is going to look very impressive when it's done!

    The green stuff beard is a particular highlight, very characterful!

    I really like the officer with his coat over his shoulder, that's one great model

    I LOVE your pioneer conversion, he looks brilliant! The beard alone is awesome!

    I think my next acquisition will be 12 or 16 Vistula Lancers and brigade command from Front rank miniatures, but it will be in March or later- first I have to buy a gunner's uniform for my reeneactment group

    I'm glad you like my works, I will try to paint them as soon as possible

    Well, now I know why I've had so many problems with finding standard of Vistula Legion... All infantry regiments of Legion did not have any banners until late year 1813, when remains of all four infantry regiments were combined in one, Vistula Regiment. So, having regard for the historical accuracy, I can't make any banners for these units.
    Here is my completed First Infantry Regiment of Vistula Legion (Pierwszy Pułk Piechoty Legii Nadwiślańskiej )

    Looking great there Bayard, the mud effect on the trousers is brilliant!

    Are you going to do all 4 Vistula regiments? I'd love to see the 4th regiment with their pink facings!

    Fantastic work - bags of character in the faces, like the style of your highlighting and the mud effects are very well done. One small suggestion - should the officers rolled up great coat be grey like the others?

    very colourful and characterful unit

    @emperorpenguin
    Yes, I'm going to do all regiments, but they all had yellow facings... Some units of Duchy of Warsaw had pink (amarant) facings, but I'll make them later
    @colhodg
    Well, officers had blue great coats, either in Polish and French units

    And now small preview: fusilier from 1st company of 1st battalion of 2nd infantry regiment of Vistula Legion- this time from Victrix!

    According to "Uniforms of the Napoleonic Wars" by Digby Smith http://www.annesspublishing.com/ai.p...1716&bcid=3374, the 4th regiment had pink facings.

    So I have to ask my friends from Vistula Legion reeneactment group, but all my sources - for eg. "Wojsko polskie w służbie Napoleona" (Polish army in Napoleon's service) by S. Leśniewski and R. Morawski (http://historyton.pl/catalog/product...oducts_id=6751) and others- does not mention anything about pink facings in any of the Vistula Legion regiments.

    Neither do any of my other books but they are very vague on the Vistula Legion.

    Quite a good resource for painting the legion Its how I painted them about 2 years ago for a friend. Nice figs, but why have you painted the bottom of his trousers black, as they are the turn ups of the overalls/trousers and should be white. Small point, but just wondered. Apart from that very nice

    Indeed, my mistake I thought it was a part of the shoe I know this site, it's very useful.

    Two more Victrix infantrymen and corrected first one:

    I've just noticed on these pictures that I forgot to paint crosses on their rosettes :/ It's fixed now...

    Your first unit looks fantastic, full of variation and character!

    I'm glad to see you're remaining productive, you've got a really good core to expand on now!

    Thank you!
    Now I'm working on my house. Floor and the attic are already done, I still have to put a roof tile, and, of course, paint everything. Overall, the house is almost in the raw state (only the door is missing):

    wow, looking really good - judging by your painting this will be great when finshed. Like the way you've done the plaster and the window frames especially, not many bother but little details like that will really make it stand out

    That french infantry man is in serious danger of smashing your window, I'd have a word with him if I were you...

    More good stuff, very nice to see, I like that there's terrain thrown into this plog, grand to see the army expanding.
