retribution of scyrah form Warmahordes. I've been complaining rather extensively just how many dark eldar armies are sprayed black and then highlighted like disco balls.
edit: ohay, some pictures!

That is very, very cool! And I agree on the whole black with coloured highlighting. These guys look much nicer!
Thats a gorgeous color scheme - much better then the dark and dreary stuff usually seen.

Love the color scheme!
it's been a busy few days, and i haven't gotten any appreciable work done. It's not coming out quite the way i wanted it to, but it is giving me some ideas for other schemes using similar techniques. now to find some good contrasting colors.

this uses a much lighter basecoat. probably a 2:1 white to jade green ratio. I am much more satisfied with this look than with the straight jade green.

the straight jade green have u thought of lining the creases between the plates with a green ink?
a combination of the ink trim and the fade to white might really pop
Steve
i'll have to take better lit pictures... i think the colors work well together.

Maybe add a wash to it to give it some depth and later add some dead grass. But thats just me

though, seeing the photos makes me realize where all the mistakes are.
i'm also still not happy with the bases.

looks alot like the old pastel color styles looking pretty good. maybe a lil more contrast between the weapon and armor tho.
the bases i did something like yours but i used plasticar and cut irregular rectalngles several inches long and maybe 1/4 inch wide and then started trimming them anywhere from 1/8" to 3/8 long at various angle cuts and glued them to bases then trimmed where they over layed on the edges and then graveled between. that way they looked more like a broken flag stone like http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...stoneSet01.jpg once painted and static grassed they look pretty good, as u see i made a mold but these are pretty quick to make as you need them as well.
Steve
perhaps shade the weapon in purple like i did the metal?

or maybe the blue or purple you used thats on the back of his waist, either the weapon clips or sash or whatever that is? maybe 2 diff tones or shades of purple if thats the 2nd main color you used, and the darker part of the gun you currently have (the inner part) be the lighter of the 2 shades.
as of now you dont really have a focal point on the figure, the weapons usualy what fits the bill and your light color of the weapon gets lost in the armor. your armor looks great, i think is where you lose it is the weapon, even if you do the weapon the same style u can go purple to white on it like you did green to white on the gun.
it will keep with the same style of painting but give a little contrast.
Steve
Very unique man. If you need some inspiration for bases, check out my log (link in the sig). I love doing bases and im told im good at it. Cant wait to see some more. One Love

i've perused your bases, sir, and they are certainly admirable. i do okay on bases, but i think i've solved my loathing of my basing scheme.

i've come to a conclusion.
painting white the way i have is an exercise in madness. on a lark, i decided to try drybrushing white onto my teal basecoat and behold! not only is it a lot easier, it's giving me some of the shading and depth i've been looking for in a fraction of the time.

I like the colour scheme on your DEs very much. It must be an absolute pain to paint but the end result is unique and very pretty.
