That dark angel looks very good so far. I'd think about changing the colour of the hip pistol holder to brown. I think with a model like this you want the red to act as a spot colour to play off the green.
I really like the back story of the models. I think it's something more bloggers should do, because for long time collectors, models do act as markers in time. It's excellent that you've brought this element into your log.
I hope your desk isn't too messy to update soon.

i'm also gearing up to do a forgeworld avatar that i've had on my desk for a number of years; the gaming club i ran pitched in to buy it for our rules junta. good thing he's my best friend, and understands what my muse. I might break out a dreadnought for a tourney at the end of the month, but unless i get at least one person to car pool with me, i'm not going to go.
the thunder-hammer-beakee-marine-person-man's story is pretty simple: I bought the "masters of the chapter" box set when it was released with two missions: to put honest to god helmets on everyone, and to pimp them out with the DA backpacks that came with the current commander. I'm still in the process of trying to acquire some illicit recasts, but only because i doubt that i'd be able to buy the damn things from Gee-dub direct.

All looking very nice. I think you made exactly the right decision on the DA Captain's cloak - it now looks almost like a flag or banner that he's wearing, because he's that cool. Also, what's "spinespur"? Sounds very interesting...

Looks good man. I think an almost white extreme highlight on the crest of the waves woils make them stand out even more.
