    Dark Creed question

Just finished this and I thought it was quite enjoyable. Some real nice insights into the organisation of the Word Bearers and how they wage war.

There was one thing however that irked me:

    Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah you could be on to something their my friend. I'm not entirely sure that the said baddie was a Necron Lord. I wondered if it was some sort of C'Tan or Scarab Lord because of the way it trounced all those Terminators that came too close and then, almost as an afterthought, ruined the Warmongers' paint-job.

Can anyone else shine some light on this enigma please?

    Not an enigma.

Plot hole/oversight by author/edittor who is rushing out the 3rd book in a trilogy.

    Simple.

Many novels fall flat when the final chapters are rushed.

The Undying One couldn't have been a C'tan, as it was once a '...creature of flesh and blood' (pg.347). There's no reason why it couldn't have been a Lord of a type not previously seen (it's surprising that it took as long as it did for a 'Spyder Lord' to make it into a BL publication since a converted model was included in the Tau and Necrons Collectors' Guide (pgs.67 & 77).

    ------------------

If I had to offer some explanation for the Word Bearer's teleportation shenanigans, The Nexus Arrangement may seperate the warp and realspace, but it doesn't appear to totally sever all connections between the two - for example, once the Arrangement is taken from The Undying One for the second time, the daemons bound to Infidus Diabolus and Burius return, suggesting some remaining link.

That's hardly a satisfactory explanation though. More likely it's just an oversight
