    Steel Legion

I began this army in 1998, and skimmed with her quite a lot of tournaments and gaming tables.
Regrettably in this period, my paint level was rather bad.
And yesterday, seeing this poor little army with tournament damages, i said to myself:
Go, be crazy, repaint this army, her deserve that
And here I'm thus left to repaint my old boys.
    Firstly, my senior officer:

    Troopers:

Leman russ (my first ..... buy in 1995):

    And an Hydra:

Your Heavy Bolter team needs the front support and that base needs some lovin':
For example, my Heavy Bolter team:

If you lost the support piece you could use any number of bits or other scenery items for that purpose.

Again, great looking army. Post more pictures, please.

Great job on those steel legion models and that officer looks boss.

Why can't GW just make plastic models of these guys they're awesome, maybe it's the name.

    Re: Steel Legion

I'd say try a little flock on the base, dead grass would look the best. If you don't have any, some spare bitz would look nice, abandoned weapons, a helmet etc. Or even some barbed wire would suit the theme.

    Re: Steel Legion

Well if you have the right stuff, its super easy.
GW sells some nice dead grass, though it is a bit pricey. Just put a couple of patches of glue down, and sprinkle some of the static grass on it. Shake off the excess and blow gently to make it stand on its end.
